Woodward gets the big name coach he desires.

I wonder if notre dame would actually hire Marcus freeman as the HC. I’m sure they didn’t think the HCIW tag would have to been used this early.
Honestly I don’t think HCIW is something athletic directors actually believe, they just throw it out so the candidates look better

To win a national championship. He knows he can’t win one at ND. Too difficult to recruit the athletes needed to win a NC to ND.

Good points. I wouldn’t mind Kelly at LSU, but does he want to step outside his comfort zone? He could easily retire at ND.

Absolutely. Just makes too much sense if you really think about it. Only negative I see is his age. But he would be highly successful here and is the second best candidate of all the names being discussed here with the exception of Riley
