Live Oak Job?

Big 5A school that is growing every year, very good facilities, not much history of success other than Beard who is now at Denham Springs. Anyone have any scoop on who they are trying to hire?

No idea who we are going after, but the last two coaches have been abysmal. Sucks because their LOJH feeder school is basically undefeated during the lifetime of its players. They're down there winning games 50-0 at junior high. So, they're getting talent, and the facilities are better than or at least equal to their peers.

The 8th grade QB and RB are very talented. They need to get this hire correct or the Catholics, PBS, UHighs will be trying to poach them out of LO

This is because DSHS pulls from 3 middle schools that Live Oak Middle beats up on. Then these 3 teams all combine into the same high school and return the favor. Essentially, DSHS has 66 middle school starters being trimmed down to 22 starting spots in high school, while LO has the same 22 starting spots throughout middle and high school.

I'm a newly minted band dad (1 current, 2 more incoming), so I've watched some atrocious football over the past 2 seasons. Last year's loss at Scotlandville was embarrassing.

The type of person who makes high school coaching a difficult job because your perception of reality is completely skewed. It’s a shame. I’ll agree that their facilities are nice. It’s a growing community. However, it can’t keep up with the Jones’ because there are not the same caliber of Jimmies and Joes in Watson. Sorry

Well hopefully they learned their lesson about handing over the keys to someone just because they attended LO…..

Yea he's still alive. Think he retired maybe 10 or so years back
He was AP when I went through LO. Had a few run-ins with him over that time

Was a good guy. Well respected. My freshman year was his last year as Head FB coach.. developed PTSD because of those 0-10 seasons

and how long was that winning streak until they played JC 8th grade at SLU?
