I know some keep saying Patterson won't because he's set at TCU. Have you looked at what Jimbo makes? It's insulting, but reading the fine print you see they have him by the nuts.
2014 -- $3.275 million
2015 -- $3.5 million
2016 -- $3.776 million
2017 -- $4 million
2018 -- $4.274 million
$100,000 for a division title
$100,000 for a conference title
$75,000 for making the playoffs
$200,000 for making the national title game
$200,000 for winning the national title game
$100,000 for a non-national title game major bowl game
$50,000 for a non-major bowl game
$200,000 for a top-five finish
$100,000 for a top-10 finish
$200,000 for an undefeated season
$75,000 for winning National Coach of the Year
$50,000 for ACC Coach of the Year
$25,000 for a graduation rate between 65% and 84%
$50,000 for a graduation rate above 84%
$25,000 for an APR rating of .930 or higher
He made 1.1 million extra this past year, a day after he signed the contract.
However, if he leaves he has to buyout his assistants' contracts. Roughly 5.4 million.

Perhaps the most interesting detail is the buyout clause, which is tied to Fisher's assistant coaches. If he leaves for another job, he has to buy out the contracts of any assistant coaches that do not stay with the new staff -- as a part of the contract, he added $500,000 to their contract pool, and if all coaches left he would owe them approximately $5.4 million, if Fisher left early.

Lots of highly successful coaches seek this out

I'm definitely all about Jim Mora Jr!

As with any other job, the longer you stay with one company the harder it is to move on to the next job.

What about Jack del Rio? Would he be a candidate?

Has never coached in college in any capacity

Cam will go out and get his guy for an OC, but we keep Chief and Wilson, which will be the reason he gets the job. WORST frickING HIRE EVER. This guy has been a failure at EVERY HC stop. Worst NFL season in history under his watch. frick him. Have you seen this offense? LSU would be hiring Curly Hallman part 2 with this hire.
Just to throw it off track,
Lost with Saban's players.

First, I really don't think Miles goes anywhere except to Juban's or Galatoire's in the post season. He has a good gig in LA and if he could get it together in he off season he has an NC caliber team beginning in the 2015 season. The Michigan job is going to take 4 years to fix at a minimum.
Secondly, all this talk about Patterson is foolishness as well, he's staying put. He's King of Ft. Worth and on a national stage at this point. The SEC is not tat so attractive that he jumps provided that Miles leaves...which he won't.
But if Miles leaves, which is highly unlikely, Go for a younger coach. Mora Jr. would fit. Kyle Winningham at Utah would work. Fuentes is intriguing but probably needs a little more seasoning.

2. Mike Gundy
* Pros-----Great offense, has won conference championships, Has developed good QBs, great track record in comparison to most coaches, TX recruiting
* CONS-----Recruiting questions in LA, A few bad years, defensive question marks.
*Bottom Line----Great coach, questionable D
3. Jim Mora, Jr
* Pros-----NFL experience, good offense, great recruiting, built UCLA into winner.
* CONS-----Lost some games that he shouldn't, limited college experience.
*Bottom Line----Good football mind, questionable college experience
4. Dabo Swinney
* PROS-----Tremendous recruiter, good offense, young, not afraid to fire assistants, Good QB evaluation, Beat Urban Meyer, puts many star players in pros
* CONS-----Needs good assistants, trouble beating USCe
* Bottom Line-----Another "CEO" coach, but keep Chavis and we might be in business. Can recruit with the best.
5. Bret Bielema
*PROS-----Power run game like our current recruits, proven winner, Defensive mind.
*CONS-----recruiting questions, too high a buyout, doubtful he leaves, no proven SEC success
*Bottom Line-----Has some success and runs a good style for us, but hasn't recruited at a high level and has been questionable in SEC success.
These are all terrible choices

mora jr is the best of that bunch, but not my first pick

3 years at memphis and has them 9-3, 1st in their conference
that's right... memphis.. the program miles former assistant larry porter took over and was fired after a few years for losing every year.
fuente has memphis in a bowl game, and that is amazing. watch his interviews/pressers. he seems like he's got it together... he's 38 years old and a former QB at a power 5 school. knows how to recruit and has ties to oklahoma and texas.

I don't see how Jimbo is remotely laughable. He would and should be call #1.
Posted on 12/10/14 at 4:49 pm to Moustache
Exactly. frick rich rod. He cried and hung his head down when west v lost. That's not a type of coach I want leading LSU.
Plus he sucks

I would like to see Gary Patterson or Art Brilles. Also, Chip Kelly or Brian Kelly would work. Just saying. I think Patterson or Brilles would be very doable.
