League sources said Lions ownership is “on the fence” about HC Jim Schwartz’s job status but it is “leaning towards keeping him.”
fricking Gym Shorts is ruining Megatron's career

Schwartz is the worst coach in the league IMO

He's one of them. They have a lot of talent on that team and their only rivals were both without their quarterback for the home stretch.

How can they be so dumb? That team has loads of talent, but Schwartz is a joke.

So dumb. They are wasting several very good/great players prime with him

I think the NFL turns over coaches too quickly overall, but Schwartz needs to be fired.
You can basically make an argument for every hot seat coach except him.

No one wants to go to Detroit for anything, much less a career there.

They don't want to pay the $12 million owed to him.

They're a loyal organization.
Should bring back Wayne Fontes.

Lions ownership sucks as bad as their cars do
Seriously, there should be a rule that X number of losing seasons means you have to sale the franchise. The Fords have shown no indication that they're able to build a consistently successful team

Same things were said about Rivera.
Schwartz has the players. Just needs to implement consistency in their performance.

As someone who hates the Lions I hope they fire Schwartz, that great DL would go to shite immediately

I said when that frickstick passed on a chipshot up four against the Steelers in favor of a fake FG that it would ruin the season, and the team did nothing but melt down after that point other than the Thanksgiving game. This guy is so hated in the city right now by fans and media that I can't see this going on another year. The Lions organization turns about as quick as a cruise ship, though.

Easily

I'd give him another year, there were signs of life in a horrible organization (Matt Millen).

As a Lions fan I really could see this going either way...it's crazy. You can't tank down the stretch three years in a row and keep your job.
Two main reasons why they would keep him:
-the organization doesn't want to pay him 12 million to go away (was already mentioned)
-Schwartz is seen as a players coach, so I can see him having the support of the locker room. Of course, the players don't always know what is best for them...especially when they have a players coach.
