Personally, I'd rather have the offensive minded coach over the defensive

I do not disagree with you.

You think about it. That’s not what literally means, genius. Great analysis.

You haven't been paying attention. Aranda has always been mentioned as a strong candidate.

Woody likes heady coaches. I find Lincoln to be kind of an enigma.
He seems to be only interested in offense.

Might not be popular and yeah it’s my own opinion but I think Napier is more balanced than both

Now you’ve got USCw looking at Aranda. He’s definitely seeing his stock rising.

No, he's not. He doesn't have any expertise in any area.

You guys are funny.
Aranda is a terrible recruiter. Terrible.
He is winning with Matt Rhule‘s players.
TCU beat Baylor the week they fired their coach.
Tap the breaks.

It does seem a bit ironic that some of the same folks desperately stumping for Aranda are probably many who were bashing him during the 2019 season. Remember, despite LSU having a jugganaut offense that season with a QB who had maybe the best season in CFB history, LSU had to survive THREE on-sides kicks to win that year. Vs. Texas Aranda's defense LITERALLY could not prevent Texas from scoring in the second half. The same was almost true vs. Alabama who scored TDs on 4 of their 5 second half possessions.
Like someone else said....either you get Riley and trust he can make the right defensive hire he needs at LSU, or you get Aranda and hope he can get the OC hire right.

I would absolutely love Aranda or Riley. Both would be homeruns. Dave would have a NC within 4 years I believe and I also believe he'd bring LSU's once proud tradition of defense back to being nasty again.
I can't believe there's little to no smoke about Aranda coming back here. If we strikeout on Riley they better back the trucks up to his house dumping money in his lap.

I’m on the Riley train for sure, but I would also be very happy with an Aranda hire.
I’m totally where you are.
I think the main question is who they would hire for the other side of the ball. Aranda is a defensive “genius,” whereas Riley is an offensive “genius.”
Assuming they are both equally competent in their hiring process, is it easier to find a good offensive OC or a defensive OC?
Because, if they are any good, they will probably be hired as a head coach after say 2 or 3 years.

I'd prefer Aranda anyway because I desperately wanted him to be the coach when Miles was sacked and I think his ceiling is the stratosphere. The dude just has it.

I'm on the Aranda train but would not be unhappy if it's Riley.
As great as the 2019 team was, the defense stepping up as the season progressed played a huge part in the overall success of winning the title...and Aranda was the reason why.

How were Aranda's defenses at LSU? Apparently he recruited well enough to field a NC defense. His defense carried LSU under Miles and O until we got an offense with a pulse.
If LSU gets a quality OC he'll be the lead recruiter for the offense and I doubt Scott or Aranda would hire an OC that wasn't well qualified like O did with Peetz.

10-9 is the smarter choice? When the other option is 54-9?
Apples and Oranges. Comparing Oklahoma and Baylor is like comparing LSU and Tulane. Is more apt comparison would be Texas and Oklahoma.
Also, a 50 game differential is not unexpected when they’ve played 50 more games
