Let’s talk sources

I’ll start by saying that people who try to come across as TD insiders annoy the shite out of me, so I refrain from posting anything definitive because things are fluid, they do change, and anyone who’s truly in the know and talking to our higher ups on a day-to-day has an NDA and isn’t bringing it to Tigerdroppings anyway.

That being said, I’ll share what I know because I think the “Woodward got played” narrative is ridiculous and getting over the top. I’m friends with someone who’s on staff who’s given me really good information in the past. Without giving away who he is, it would be very, very relevant for him to know who the next coach is for the purposes of doing his job properly, and he’d possibly be the first person to find out or be in the loop if Woodward were giving anyone tidbits. He’s maintained that he doesn’t have a clue nor does anyone else.

Woodward is keeping this very tight, as he does with every other search, and I get that this won’t make me popular or have people making threads asking my opinion or kissing my arse, but for anyone to act like they even knew how deep negotiations were with Riley was a joke.

That’s it. My source, who would hypothetically be possibly the best source you can have in terms of needing to know, knows nothing. No one else on staff really knew anything last time we talked either. Rohan Davey, Jordy Culotta, national pundits, etc. also know nothing. No one who’s claiming their “higher up TAF donor’s uncle’s friend is saying it’s Riley” has a clue, including TBL, Vol, or anyone else wasting their time by making vague posts and trolling the board. The media needs to cover this to make money, and that’s what they’re doing. They don’t need to be right, or have inside sources, they just need clicks and viewers and they’re literally making shite up or repeating TD hearsay.

We had a big time melt over O’Sullivan and Bianco during the baseball coaching search, and look how that turned out. Woodward is a great AD who will make a great hire, and shitting on him over this is ridiculous. It’s been a ridiculously fun season on the CC board and it’s been fun to hope for Riley, but I think Woodward will make the best hire possible when it’s all said and done.
