Based on what I've read today, apparently all he needs to do is beat Southern Miss and the job is his! That crazy cajun!!!

i think bama could be one of least important, is it really expected to beat no. 1 team in country or else? I mean, what if he pulls of bama win but loses to UF, Arky, and A&M... i think UF, Ole Miss, Arky, A&M are all more important.

He's a long shot. He doesn't get a crack at the job unless he runs the table AND Herman/Jimbo say no

O needs to prove himself, building a winning program at another school, and not as an interim coach winning with Miles's players.

I think the worse he can do and be a real candidate is 5-2. One loss has to be a very close game with Bama, and the other must be do to a bad call!
I hope he runs the table and wins the NC, but I hope that every year.

I guess it depends on why Miles was ultimately fired. Was it because he was losing to Bama, or because he started losing to Auburn, Arkansas and Ole Miss?
In other words, if we finish 6-2 in the SEC this year but still lose to Bama, that would be better than Miles has done the past few years.
I think what I hate about this whole deal is that unless O is the HC we are going to lose him as a defensive coach.

Honestly the Bama game will be everybody's answer but I'm more interested in how the team plays against Arkansas and Ole Miss. It's easy to get up for Alabama but can he do it the week before and after? That will tell a lot.
