Nah, I don't buy it.

Until there's a new contract, I'll continue to believe Cam will "go back" to the NFL and LSU will have a new offensive coordinator for '16.

Yeah I don't think changing oc's will do much good. Miles is going to do what he wants.

It can do wonders, if allowed..

Coaching shake ups can do wonders as soon as year one.

Good. Changing OC's due to offensive ineptness is played out. Either improve the offense with a former NFL OC or gtfo.

It helped us tremendously.

We were fairly inept on offense last year. We cut Chaney loose and brought in Enos and flourished on offense in his first year.

Now if we could've only fielded a defense worth a crap

Will Les being paying him out of pocket?

His contract expires in March and has already been declined for renewal.

I have been a HUGE proponent of OC changes every time there has come the time for one...until now. There's no OC that could have a big enough impact to change the narrative in year 1. Might as well keep the terminology, and let Brandon Harris continue on with the guy he started with. This would be the first 3rd year guy Cam Cameron has ever coached at LSU. I'm interested in seeing where it goes.

Just no way LSU is going to bring in any spread guys to overhaul it that far. Also, the volatility of the situation likely wouldn't attract any viable candidates.

People can bitch all they want, but Cam had Mett, and now he's had these guys. If Brandon Harris comes out next year and plays well, then you can say Cam has been a pretty big success considering the circumstances.

Completely different situation. Les Miles =/= Bret Bielema.

To be fair, Les Miles never talks about firing or "changing" his coaching staff. He waits until they find another job to start searching for a potential replacement. I don't think the OC matters but this is the same way the Studrawa replacement took place.

Contract has not been renewed because Cam wants a raise and no Miles clause.

AD is only willing to give Cam the same deal as Steele.

Les Miles is making no changes "at this point."

Miles has never announced a firing this early. He gives the assistants time to find a new job. You can't read anything into this.

What's he going to say, "yes, Cam is gone frick my recruiting class anyway".

I don't think Cam is as bad as the board makes him out to be. Should just give him another year since Miles will probably be gone next year anyway. No need to sit into a bigger financial hole when his buyout comes up. Did people forget just a few years ago he had 2 1k WRs and an all-world RB as well as doing a good job developing Mett? Despite what some might think, Harris has already shown a big leap from his true freshman to sophomore seasons. Don't forget this guy was extremely raw coming out of HS.

Good. I don't intend for him to waste even more of the millions upon millions I've given to the program.

Did anyone ask about BDP? I think NOT hiring Joe Robinson right this second is a mistake for dozens of teams.

The fact we've had him before AND he's an alum makes this mistake even worse for LSU.

While I don't think Cameron is as bad as most people think - the losing streak this year is glaring.

I mean, where does it stop? If you fire Cam for the losing streak, you have to fire Steele for the scoring defense, BDP for the general suckiness, Tony Ball for general suckage at WRs (although Chi improved this year) and Raymond for a slip in DBU - and you're left with O, Frank and Ensminger - and primarily based on each's ability to recruit - with O being the sole bright spot down the stretch as a position coach (ETA: And we need to stop doing this - Frank does a great job with the RBs - I know it is the most transferable skillset from HS to CFB to NFL, but he spots, assesses, recruits and develops RBs so consistently, we take it for granted - they do NOT just coach themselves, especially ball security).

(And, FTR, I'm a bonafide positiger who supported Miles down the stretch, disagreed with his being fired in the media and think he's a great coach - but not one without flaws.)

A coordinator shuffle is unlikely to fix some of the issues we have. The youth issue is what it is - they will be better next year or they won't. If not, it will be a comprehensive failure in both recruiting and development.

I would like a dedicated QB coach - for as little as we actually use the TEs, I would split up that responsibility between the WR and OL coach, and have 1 person who works, full-time, with the QBs and only with the QBs. Heck, that could be Ensminger - or someone else who can get that QB-to-QB translation, without having to worry about the entire offensive scheme.

So his decision may be made, and he wouldn't be lying. That's how Les rolls.

Yes but once the running game becomes a non factor and gets shut down in the game Cameron's air coryell system doesn't work. We don't have a quarterback able to constantly hit these vertical deep pass routes and get into a rhythm like Mett was able to. it's just too difficult for an average college quarterback to succeed in. In 2013 we had Mett who could make these throws and continue to give us success even when the running game was shut down. It's just not the right system for LSU in my opinion the metts, beckhams, and landrys don't come along very often on the same team.

Regarding the Kiffin thread going on....now, that is a guy who could come in year one and make a big splash. He did it at Bama and might be let go after this season. It doesn't look like he is up for any big HC gigs yet....so why not come down to the bayou to reunite with his buddy O and start developing Harris and this O to its best potential? I would love it. But, I'm sure it is just wishful thinking...

Cam wants a raise??? What has he done to deserve a raise at this point? I am desperate for a change. Bring on Kiffin.
