Les Miles to Colorado Prediction Thread

I'm going to go ahead and predict that Coach Miles goes to Colorado. I know that it is unfathomable, but having watched this stuff play out for many years now, there seems to be a lot of smoke up there.
Here is what I'm going off of: Woody Paige keeps writing articles about it. Why would he do that if he didn't know something? We saw that with the Saban-to-Alabama rumors. Everyone thought that was crazy, but there were sources who were calling it weeks in advance. I think that is happening here.
Also, Miles used to coach there and they are making the jump to the Pac 10. It is time for them to get a proven winner that can recruit and is ethical and runs a clean program. Miles fits the bill.
I know he would take a big pay cut. And, I actually don't want to see him go, at least without knowing for a fact that we could get someone better.
Just got a feeling . . .

I would say that if he only mentioned it once. But he's continued on with it.
I will say this: If it is going to happen, it will be soon. If nothing comes up on this in the next two weeks, then it is a dead issue.
In a weird, counter-intuitive sort of way, it seems plausible to me. And, isn't that kind of how the Mad Hatter does things?

paige is throwing shite on a wall and seeing what sticks. this is no different than the crap he does on ATH.

I lived in Boulder for many years.
I was a CU ticket holder the whole time.
He is NOT taking that vastly inferior position.
Trust me on this.

Which is basically what I'm doing here, but like I said, in a weird, counterintuitive way, this makes sense.
I also think that Colorado could come up with the money. In a state where the beer flows like wine, there's enough money to pay Les $3 mill a year.

right now, sure. but all time? no way...it can actually be a good job
i dont at all think Les will take the colorado job. HOWEVER, am i willing to completely dismiss it? nah, not really.
There can be a lot of positives about the colorado job, especially if Les is maybe tired of the criticism here...

the reason CU had to keep Hawkins was becuase of $$$. they have a major problem getting donations from their alumni lately and are trying to change it, but from what i've read they are going to be ranked last in the pac-12 in athletic department donations.
the ad has already said they can't afford a 4 mill coach, and i don't see miles taking the pay cut.

False.
What is? They CAN'T come up with the money?
I like your posts, pimp. You usually make good sense. I'm of course, speculating here based off of other info and rumors. But, are you saying that Colorado absolutely could not come up with $3 mill a year?
If not, who do you think they could get as a coach? What would they pay?

Miles isn't a money guy like people think IMHO

DRACONIAN Self imposed recruiting restrictions.
Mandatory state law that says asst coaches get MAX one year contracts.
No indoor facility worth a crap.
Horrible facilities.
No academic center.
HIGH academic standards.
No buzz around program whatsoever.
hostile, liberal faculty.
Pitiful in-state recruiting base.
Shall I go on.

Google this and you will understand.
Les Miles is not going to Bouldxer.
I'm a huge CU guy.
But Les ain't taking that job.

Colorado has won in the past. Is it now impossible? They recruit a lot out of California. Some of the self-imposed restrictions could be negotiated away with a new coach.
I get what you're saying, but it is hard to fathom that a program like Colorado is now the equivalent of Washington St. or Indiana in football.
If so, that is a real shame.

But it would be fun to see everybody in the PAC-10 up in arms. I'm quite certain that they are still a bit pissy over past comments.
