$100 says if we try that with this squad, Jefferson ends up next to the Sam LB before he calls for the ball

I'll say I'd prefer a young up and comer over a guy who's bounced around for years as an OC but often flames out and moves to another gig ala crowton, krag, and borges

I didn't realize he was also at Oregon State. That makes him look even better as it shows he isn't just a guy that is locked into running it 50 times a game.

I hope Chryststyle would work with recruits, it seems more ground and pound with a little play action. Wouldn't a more balanced attack fit better with our personnel? I would love this hire but I'm looking ling term and don't see it going well after losing techies. I think we need more of a Logan or that old Louisville coach style of play. All of this is just my opinion though but I think I'm a relatively knowledable football spectator.

I see your point, but the fact that he was at Oregon State shows he is flexible. The excessive ground and pound fits the kind of players Wisconsin can recruit. He could adjust here.

Well typically usually teams with bad OL tend to spread it out because it requires less talented OL. I just hope we can have a team that can run it wide or with double tights and still be successful. Something similar to a Jimbo Fisher, even if I get flamed for this I would really love to see in our personnel and offensive scheme.

Wouldnt have to worry about that with Bobstad. He can develop some O-Linemen

Last year, despite starting six different combinations at offensive line, UW led the Big Ten in total offense, scoring offense and rushing offense while allowing just 23 quarterback sacks, its lowest total since 2004. Running back John Clay earned Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year honors while leading the Big Ten and ranking eighth in the country with 1,517 rushing yards. Two offensive linemen, tackle Gabe Carimi and center/guard John Moffitt, were named first-team All-Big Ten

If Chryst turned down Texas, I find it highly unlikely he'll come to LSU. JMO.

Texas turned him down because they didn't want to wait on him to interview at Pitt

Well, if that's the case, then we should certainly make the call. He's be right up there on my list, no question. He's solid.

I say we do our best to get Chryst with the understanding he will be here for 2 years and let Billy G work with him during that tenure. Then he will have raised his stock for a better head coaching job by being OC at an elite SEC school and a successful Big 10 program. When he leaves, make Billy G OC. Kind of an OC in waiting. That way Billy gets a couple years under his belt working with an excellent pro-style coordinator. Win/Win

The point is we know Chryst has aspirations to become a head coach and therefore probably would not stay long. But he may be just the type OC to get us a championship next year. The risk being Cryst stays only 1 year or BG tires of waiting and moves on. I don't really see a problem. Pelini was here for 3 yrs. and was able to use it to springboard to top coaching job, I think Chryst could do the same. In the meantime BG is mentored for a couple of seasons and is that much better prepared for the job once it is available.
