1. Greatest coach in college football history - Led LSU to national title

2. Winningest coach in LSU history by winning percentage - Led LSU to two national title games and one title

3. Led LSU to the greatest season in college football history - Led LSU to its first CFP national title

First one hired by Joe Dean. Second one hired by Skip Bertman. Third one hired by Joe Alleva.

What will Woodward do?

It should be. All coaches ought to be salivating at coming here. We're the only school that can bumble through its last two searches and fall into 2 natties.

Sole P5 team in talent rich state.
Strong brand that lures elite talent from other states.
Elite facilities with commitment to be the best.
The best game atmosphere in all of sports.
Top of market pay for HC and staff.
High expectations.
Only program since 2000 with a NC and no losing seasons.

Only a handful of coaches wouldn't want to move.

Joe dean had nothing to do with hiring Saban, it was Emmert

Dean didn't even know who he was.

Gotta be Franklin. Dude will never get over the hump at Penn State. LSU has the talent and recruiting to go head to head with Bama. Bama is on the way down, Saban is burning out.

In the future it will be LSU and Georgia. And we’ve made them our bitch most years.

I just checked recruiting for 2022. I’m sure we’ll lose a few but as of now we have like 12 of the top 15 recruits in Louisiana.

With Franklin we become the next dynasty.

You have no idea what you are talking about. Emmert signed off on the deal, but it was Sean Tuohy who contacted Joe Dean right before Thanksgiving 1999 because his partner in the Taco Bell franchise was Jimmy Sexton and Saban expressed interest because MSU was dicking around with him on a new contract after a 9-2. Saturday after Thanksgiving Dean and Emmert both flew up to Memphis to Sean and Leigh Ann's house and began negotiations. Dean did most of the negotiating. When a number came up that was close to both sides liking, Dean went to Emmert and Emmert said make the deal.

Franklin gets left alone in Happy Valley. Take last year for example, no one was breathing down his neck because most there recognized the season was going to be bullshite with all the Covid shite. In BR due to our Alabama penis envy that could never be the case.

shite I can remember in 2002 when LSU fans were having 2 nd thoughts on Saban because the team went 8-4 and got blown out by Alabama and Francioni . Not elite many were saying......not elite.

All of this ain't wrong, but if Franklin wants to maximize his chances at winning a title, he'll consider LSU.

It’s self-assured hubris to believe that anyone can win a NC here.

Thankfully I trust Scott to hire the best candidate.

And two of them couldn’t speak English. I honestly think it’s a good selling point for any competent coach. If those two half wits can win a Natty I definitely can.

Not doubting your account of the events, but why in the world would a massive Ole Miss booster like Tuohy be helping LSU secure their new coach? Just because of the Sexton connection?

I heard at the time, it was Emmert and one of the BOS , Cusimano? Who made the deal.

We're going to go undefeated for a decade and then fire the head coach on the field after accepting the Natty because LSU deserves better, fans will rejoice

Next Coach finally meets LSU standards (barely) and we not only go undefeated his entire tenure but also unscored upon. He enjoys the support of just over 50% of the fanbase
