While it disappointing Kiffin will not call the plays in 2016, it may be a blessing in disguise. Kiffin was gonna be a head man again soon....so he was a short term answer anyway. Maybe the guy we pick will have more stability & can "stay a while".

The only way Orgeron is successful is if he gets successful guys, and those guys will be gone every couple of years. So he will have to keep hiring good to great OC's to be successful every couple of years. Problem is, how much time do we give him to right the ship is he misses on a hire?

I'm thinking Kiffin will take Sark with him to be his OC.

University of Houston officials, including president Renu Khator, are scheduled to meet regarding the finalists for their head-coaching position Thursday evening, sources told ESPN.

Athletic director Hunter Yurachek and board of regents chair Tilman J. Fertitta will meet with Khator to discuss the three coaches who have emerged as finalists -- Alabama offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin, Houston offensive coordinator Major Applewhite and Houston defensive coordinator Todd Orlando.

Whoever the next coach is, Houston is trying to require an excessive buyout so he can't leave after a couple of seasons without paying a substantial penalty, a source said.
