The phone of former Texas Tech coach Kliff Kingsbury has been ringing off the hook from NFL teams, including two that have given him firm offers. College offense has infiltrated the NFL and Kingsbury's superb knowledge of it is in high demand.

I think we knew this...or it was posted on the Tiger Rant. IDK. I can't keep track anymore and this coaching carousel cycle has just started

Not much of an update.

Doesnt Kliff know it's best to establish the run first? That's ole sissy football right there, yep.
Real grown man football puts it on the ground, pounds it out. Ain't no sissies in the big bad SEC.

He has 2 firm NFL offers. Pretty significant update to me

Bubble screens are taking over the NFL?

Call me crazy, but Kingsbury's offense doesn't impress me nearly as much as Briles or Freeze.
Kingsbury did not put a ton of points on the board when facing good defenses. He won about 6 games a year at Texas Tech. His offense lost to the worst defense in the SEC this year in Ole Miss. He had stinking Pat Mahomes at qb and when going up against a good defense with LSU got ran out of NRG Stadium.

These offenses are all infused with the same principles.
Stop getting stuck in "muh running game". Play to score points however that may be done. Running isnt nearly as difficult as passing. You develop a strong passing game and the run will be easier.

Talent at Texas tech vs talent at LSU.
HELLOOOO

Greg Williams said he’s gotten thousands of letter job offers too. Doesn’t mean much without names.

Kliff strikes me as the type of guy who is a much better OC than he is HC. And let's be honest, he'd have some serious skill players at LSU he never had at Tech. If you look at his numbers as OC at A&M in 2012, he was 50/50 run/pass and it was incredibly effective against vaunted SEC defenses. Yes he had Manziel, but he used him properly and tailored an offense around his skill sets, rather than forcing a QB to conform to his scheme.
I'd be happy with any of the three: Briles, Kingsbury, Freeze, or I'd even throw in Longo and at least make OM pay him more.

The biggest update is that Gil Brandt is still alive

He’ll replace Linehan in Dallas

To be fair, KK also has some playing experience (was the 2GOAT's backup in NE) in the NFL so I actually think he would do well as OC in the league.

Without names of interested parties, this is worthless. Just an agent making up stuff.

I'm in like Huck Finn on this

That's what I was thinking. Linehan is on his way out and Jerry likely is drooling at the thought of a KC or LAR style offense.

Cleveland and Dallas
Cleveland with Riley?

He was never Brady’s backup. They drafted him and he spent one season on IR and was released the next season
Bounced around a couple practice squads after that and was out of the league
