Do you know for sure whether he's really looking to coach anywhere this coming season? I know he has to go through the formalities of searching under his contract with LSU, but that involves just that, formalities.

I don't understand the gameday thing. The only reason anyone listened to him was to make fun. Him speaking is unbearable.

I feel like CLM felt he was King of LSU football, and thus was above reproach. Now that he's been forced to abdicate the throne, he's on the outside looking in. THAT'S what happens when you refuse to listen to your royal subjects, and change with the times.

And yet people thought Mich or Arky or some other phantom school would snatch him up

Hell, we replaced him with a DLine coach, and got the same result, if not better

He's rich and he got himself a crystal football. Not sure why anyone would feel sorry for him

I question how much interest there actually was from Miles on that job, probably not much. he is set for life and doesn't have to reach for a job he doesn't want. if anything, having miles name associated with the Purdue (or Houston) vacancy does more to legitimize their searches than it does for Miles to be associated with them.

Les will get paid $133,000 per month for the next 6 years for sitting on his couch or fishing or golfing. Very sorry he has to suffer like that

Lets not act like those 4 coaches were absolute failures every year they were at LSU. And you failed to add coaches like Frank Wilson, Ed Orgeron, Corey Raymond, Dave Aranda and the list goes on.

You might not like to admit it, but Miles did assemble some pretty decent coaching staffs.

Houston interviewed at least four candidates for its head coaching vacancy, sources told ESPN.com: Alabama OC Lane Kiffin, former LSU coach Les Miles, Houston OC Major Applewhite and Houston DC Todd Orlando have all interviewed. Houston expects to make a hire by week's end, according to sources.

Houston is tired of frequent HC turnover; i.e., being a stepping stone. They want new hire to accept contract designed to make it costly for other schools to hire away their HC. Kiffin may not like that. If Miles would be content to stay there, UH just might hire him.

I have said it in multiple threads but it applies here best. Miles is the 60 year old guy trying to get a sales job in 2016 and refuses to learn how to email.

He could take a smaller job but he likely wont humble himself to do that at his age. Similar to the Fulmer/Mack Brown situation. I dont feel sorry for Miles. His stubborness over the last four years has set LSU back 20 years.

i dont. the guy had years of evidence showing his offense wasnt working, he had every possible opportunity to fix it, and he did absolutely nothing.

even at the end of last season, after being gifted a miracle final chance, he still wouldn't even acknowledge that there was a problem, saying the engine was fine and just needed a few tweaks.

the result of those tweaks was a top 5 team going 2-2. frick him.

By the time we finish paying his buyout, he will have made more money this decade than what the vast majority of football coaches make in a lifetime.

It's just like business, if you do not evolve and innovate then you die, that simple, the competition eats you for lunch! Miles did not get that basic tenant, just do not get it.
