He's not a take at LSU because of the flight risk and Houston wants a classy coach. Where else could he end up?

which is really the problem in a nutshell. we are 100% willing to take a guy who will jump ship next year vs a baby briles or helfrich who would stay 3-5 years.

And how n da faaaak do u know they stay here 3-5 years. So u think helfrich after getting to a final 4 at Oregon turns the Lsu offense around won't get a HC'n opportunity ? Dude was like 40 somethin n 20 somethin as a HC at a major program

So we want coordinators that are not good enough to be head coaches so they'll be here forever?

When LSU was its best our D.C. who was here a short time left LSU for Nebraska. And the OC went to be coach in waiting at FSU.

Now our coordinators get their careers blasted into oblivion after coaching here. It's dumb to hire coaches that nobody else wants!

Not at all what i said, but go ahead and spin it in whatever manner that lets you sleep at night.
Baby Briles isnt ready to be a HC at a decent sized program. Helfrich HC stock just took a major nosedive. Both of those guys need time at a place like LSU to build up their resumes. Both are proven OCs. And both are almost 100% going to get a full time OC gig in this coaching changes cycle - which means they wont be available when Kiffin bolts next year.

Dude, until Kiffin is definitely out of the picture, Ol Cookie Monster ain't looking any further than his longtime chum.

Train wrecks like Helfrich's tenure at Oregon aren't usually awarded with second chances at major places. Unless you're LSU, of course.

LSU isn't going to hire a coach under an investigation by the NCAA that isn't even tied to the institutional coverup of rape orchestrated by that staff.

If we get a briles I want the original. Not the one that got the job because of who his dad is. Let him prove he's a legit OC first somewhere else. We need the best of the best.
