Personally, I don't see Kiffin leaving for Auburn. All signs are pointing towards him remaining at Ole Miss. Although, Auburn fans want him, there's no sure benefit to leave his comfortable stay at Ole Miss.

Ole Miss "insiders" claim the new deal offered by the administration puts him on a "Ryan Day" level of pay. AU has not yet offered, but who would leave a 8+ win job, for a delusion to win a national championship at AU?

Lastly, news "insiders" are claiming Kiffin is the smokescreen and that the current leaders are Fickell & Franklin.

My prediction---> AU finds a way to fumble this search.

Can I ask an honest question? Why does Auburn need a smokescreen?

Theoretically its because there is such scrutiny over these hires, they want people looking a different direction so they can quietly work out a deal behind the scenes with somebody like Mike Stoops without ruffling feathers at UK if it doesnt work out.

i think it really starts with agents like Jimmy Sexton spreading these rumors to get their coaches raises. Then the hiring university can use the rumors to their advantage.

Reports last night was that he got top 5 contract and his NIL request was exceeded by a million. So i dont see why he would leave at this point. This is a classic sexton play.

If that’s true then our administration and boosters stepped up big time

yeah, this rumor is dumb. zero chance Auburn would consider hiring a guy who is 2-20 vs top-10 teams.

What about the 5 yr contract limit? Seems logical to want one of these 10 yr deals guaranteed

This didn’t need a new thread. Pretty unoriginal thought already shared in several of the other threads.

AU Fans already suspect there will be fumbling

Whoever you hire will be fired in three years, because they will be unable to recruit against nor beat Saban. It’s a black hole of a job until Saban retires.

LK is using this controversy to up his salary at OM.
I don't see Auburn getting into a bidding war.

Fickell
I can’t imagine Luke Fickell having any interest in the Auburn job.

he’s a devout Catholic from Ohio and is married with six kids, so he doesn’t want to leave the Midwest.
