I think it has more to do with his record against good teams. We just fired a coach that had a poor record against good teams.

this is insanity
No coach is even close to being worth that kind of money. Pay someone half that and give the rest to the best players. It is the players that win the game anyway. Giving the $ to the coaches is insanity in the present system in college football.

Seriously. If any of those #s are accurate, its ridiculous. I'd be happy with Lane for $10-12mm. $13-14mm is already too much, but LSU can afford it i guess. Lane hasn't done anything yet to deserve that much though and if he continues to flub a game on stupidity the fan base of whoever lands him for fricking $15mm or whatever is going to have a collective stroke.
ETA: I'd be happy if LSU grabs an up and comer for a lot less. Golesh, Dilly, etc.

I think he knows this and that’s why he’ll leave. Playoff run is the only reason he hasn’t already gone.
LSU is likely his 2nd choice because of his familiarity with Florida and the 2 programs are pretty close in everything else.
