He's saying because someone else got away with it means its moral. thats not true.

I don’t know that he’s saying that per se. It’s more that having an affair doesn’t necessarily rise to the level of a breach of a morality clause in an employment contract.

What about drinking on the job?

That would get me fired. If they caught me.

Sounds like it could have been more a payment negotiation than some weird loyalty clause threat tactic.

If Kelly broke any clause in the contract, then why pay him anything?

The morality clause will absolutely be in the next coach’s contract. It covers much more than a piece of arse on the side.

Yes, but it can be limited as to what it covers.

It would be removed with a quickness.

No it wouldn’t. Regardless of what you think, the university is going to protect itself in the contract. Saban would be bound by the same moral standards expected as any other coach would be. His Alabama contract made damn sure of it as well. This is a legal contract for employment. It’s not some shite written on a napkin. Lord Saban would still be held accountable.

Really? You think Saban is going to ask them to leave out certain morality issues because he may break those moral standards or clauses expected of him? Y’all are hysterical. Oh hey, I’m going to take the low road right here and get the university sued so I need that left out …but you can’t fire me or withhold any of my money. LMFAO!

That’s not what I said or implied.

In my opinion, issues of morality are viewed objectively and in some cases based on community standards.

What a Mormon in Utah believes to be immoral may differ from what a Baptist in Alabama considers immoral.

Kelly having an affair should not be sufficient to breach the contract if it causes no harm to the university. Under what circumstances could the university be sued based on a coaches infidelity?

That aspect of the morality clause, if actually stated, could most certainly be omitted.
