Im in the wrong business apparently. 2-22 in 2 years and 1-11 in conference gets you a raise and extension. lol

a far cry from Mangino Orange Bowl days!

quote:

Kansas: David Beaty has received a two year extension (along with a raise) at Kansas. Kansas only won one game vs an FBS opponent this season…Texas. Under the new agreement Beaty is slotted to earn $1.6 million next year (with $100,000 increases each year through 2021). Under his prior deal, Beaty earned $800,000 this season.

Considering the abyss KU football fell into, going from 0 to 2 wins is a small step in the right direction. This show of faith is good for recruiting.

Pretty amazing how that lone conference win over Texas might've changed the landscape of college football for the forseeable future.

Texas was paying over $5 million a year to win 5 games so I would say that at $800k a year, Kansas was getting more bang for their buck than Texas was

A friend of mines son plays for KU. He says the work the coaching staff has done there is incredible. The guy played college football himself so it's not just some homer trying to pump up his kids team. If they win four-five next year it will be like a national title run...lol

A lot of companies would kill for a 200% increase in production.

Exactly how fast do you think he should be able to turn around the giant crater left in the ground from Turner Gill and Charlie Weis?

By his last year Weis was going into recruits' homes and calling his current players a pile of crap. LINK

It's rare that a coach doesn't even need booster interference or a major scandal to burn a program to ashes but Charlie was one of the few with the talent to do it.
