No suprise. A bunch of his assistants had no clue if they were returning or not next season. I'm sure he just got sick of the uncertainty.

He'll find a better job than UCLA.

Rumors have been going on that he might be the new Texas OC... I have been hoping it was BS, but if is true it does not look good.

Chow doesn't seem to really have much fire or motivation now that he knows he'll never be a head coach. He looked completely disinterested at UCLA 99% of the time

If he was hired, I don't doubt a lot of people would reference his failed years at UCLA... but the fact is... I don't think he ever started and finished a year there with the same QB... and sometimes ended up with a third stringer.

Hard for any coordinator to succeed in that climate.

The fact that Chow couldn't find or develop a QB in three years, even with his pick of Southern California QB talent, I'd say is troubling and says something about how motivated he was for the job

Chow wanted the Stanford coaching job bad. He's been terrible ever since

He hasn't had shite to work with since he was hired at UCLA. They had a lot of injuries this year. And he had a head case in Vince Young at Tennesse. I would take him over Crowton any day.

isn't this an oxymoron? can't you say the same thing about crowton? it's crowton's job to get and develop the qb position but not chow's?

my opinion, neither has had a lot to work with and we they do, they perform. however, the angle has been, crowton can't recuit or develop guys. well, chow at u.c.l.a.?

with that said, i don't think either forgot how to coach. i do think chow is a very good o.c.

yeah that's the impression I'd been getting for about a month or 2.

I still wanna know who's idea it was to go to a pistol-based option offense? I never thought I'd see Neuheisel or Chow running such, let alone a team that had both of em.
