Hoke will be their coach. I'd bet Miles doesn't receive an inquiry call. These people aren't blind. I like Miles and I am glad to have a clean program; BUT can you imagine the first clock mismanagement fiasco in Ann Arbor?!?!? Brandon would get run outta town.

Michigan boards seem to all want Miles not Hoke. I think Miles gets serious consideration. Ann Arbor would be just fine with a 10 win season.

If they wanted Hoke, why not take him back in November and not meddle with recruiting...there is a reason they waited, and don't say to save a few dollars with RR, that's absurd, they have plenty of $$$ to do what they want

Hoke has no where near the resume of Les Miles

Period

And Miles is an alumni, Hoke is not

Hoke maybe a good coach but if I am a Michigan fan, I would be flat ticked off hiring Hoke

From RR to Hoke? Uh NO!!!!

Equivalent boards to our's screaming for Gruden?

I hope Alleva doesn't feel the same. Les could parlay this into a LONG-TERM, BIG extension.

I will disagree. No question Les has done well at LSU.........Great? No, especially the last three seasons; and his days at Okie St were mediocre. But he has recruited well and ran a clean program. A clean program is HUGE.

But Brady Hoke has an equally impressive resume. He made Ball St matter, and won at SD St.

I actually think Hoke did more with Les.

the reason they waited imho wasn't for Miles but for Harbaugh.

Miles is the all time winningest Coach in LSU history with 2 SEC, 1 MNC, 4 bowls wins
62-17

and you bring me Ball state and SDST? What did SDST do?

Miles has coached 2 BSC schools with 12 years experience

Les Miles is big name, Hoke is a nobody

Would you want him at LSU as HC? I rest my case!

This is simple...if Hoke is the guy, it will be wrapped up before Friday night.

If it isn't...Hoke isn't the guy and the guy (if not Harbaugh) is probably coaching his current team Friday night.

1 #1 Recruiting class!

Again, what in the Heck has Hoke Done at SDST? I haven't heard of this guy until this week.

Everybody has heard of Les Miles.. He eat grass to stay "Grounded"..."he is busy"..."Have a great day" he is certainly "capable"

If I am Michigan fan, I want a "somebody" to take over the program, not some former assistant that has a big dream to coach Michigan. I bet Frank Wilson has a dream too

I don't think Miles sucks. Recruiting and a clean program are huge IMO. Is Miles the best coach in the country? Hell No. I absolutely wanted him gone mid-season. But, if he left now we would be screwed. The best replacements have retired, signed extensions, turned down "better" offers, or moved on.

I only hope Les doesn't get an absurd contract out of this. A continuation of his present deal seems reasonable.

That's GOLD, Jerry!

quote:

Brady Hoke: The San Diego State football coach, a hot commodity right now, told his school’s president that ultimately, he hopes his career takes him to the University of Michigan. He might get it sooner than expected. Michigan saves $1.5 million if it fires coach Rich Rodriguez after the Jan. 1 Gator Bowl. The speculation seems to be win or lose, Rodriguez is gone, and Michigan will then make a run at Stanford’s Jim Harbaugh. If he passes (my guess is he does), Hoke’s their guy. It took six years for Hoke to get Ball State to 12-1; in year two at SDSU, the Aztecs are 8-4. [Union Tribune]

Sound plausible.
