The guy played college and coached high school in LA, won a Superbowl, and is pretty offensive minded. Not sure if he would want to coach college, but I wouldn't hate it if he was hired.

He would make sense.

Probably not a super splash hire, but there is every reason he could be successful.

Has the career pro that’s been out of the game for a few years then resurfaces in college ever worked out ?

Good coach in NFL doesn't translate to good coach in NCAA football. Can he maintain a program? Can he recruit? Can he develop young men? Can he relate to young men which these days mean kiss arse? Can he rebuild a program? Can he develop an NIL blueprint to stay ahead of other universities?

Too many questions since he has never maintained it at the NCAA level. He could be a disaster hiring even if he won a SB. Successful NFL coaches do not automatically = successful NCAA coaches.

He wouldn't be a bad hire but he wouldn't be a homerun either. It would be risky, imo.

He's been out since January.

He's going to get offered NFL jobs come January.

Did Nick Saban and Pete Carroll work out?

Nick Saban and Pete already had NCAA careers. Pretty big difference.

Carroll hadn't coached in college for 18 years by the time USC hired him.

How relevant is that, really?

Nope, I did look at his wiki to see his employment history, but didn't change it. That's really funny tho. Must be another fan from the 318

Saban isn’t a fitting comparison

Carroll Is one that had pretty limited college experience and worked out. Still he did have some

If you go and read all the stuff about Philadelphia and how that went bad, my guess is you don't need to go anywhere near $13 million to pull him if he's who you want.

Give the guy a non-dysfunctional environment and the ability to get the players he wants and he might kill it.

There are risks associated with him, but I'd expect him to have LSU in the national title chase more years than not. If you can go on a Super Bowl run with Nick Foles at QB, you're a pretty damn good coach.
