Hindsight is wonderful.
The "ridiculous" contract kept a coach here who was about to play for the SEC title. No one could blame him at the time.
Also, he hired Laval, and also stepped up and got rid of him, replacing him with PM, who in turn won a national title.
Two national titles under Skip's watch- I think he did a fair job...

I say 100% he stays. He can coast to 9 wins a year here, and he knows it.

No doubt, Skip gets way too much blame. He righted the ship with baseball and obviously didn't make a bad football hire with Miles

It's a ignorant vocal fans who comes here to spew negativity no matter what the subject is.
Fun to read and laugh at their misfortune.

So winning the West is all it takes for us to not only be happy with a coach but to do whatever it takes to keep him here? Silly.
Not to mention we didn't have to do anything to keep Miles here considering Michigan didnt want to hire him.

Not just winning the west- he was like 24-4 at that point in time.
Well, you have the luxury of NOW knowing Michigan may not have wanted him- at the time, Skip didn't have that luxury. Reports, info said otherwise.

Miles needs to stay for his family, his professional career, chance to be a legend, for his players.
80/20 is great news.

A large portion of the fanbase was unhappy with him at that time b/c he seemed to have squandered a golden opportunity by losing those 2 games. However it worked out after that, that regular season was a disappointment on top of 2 somewhat disappointing seasons before that. At that point, LSU fans expected to be in the hunt for the national championship and win it, so those 10-2 seasons were seen as nice but not as living up to expectations. Now expectations are lower.
I'm not saying at that point LSU fans thought we should win the NC every year. I'm saying that there was an overall expectation after 2004 and that Miles had not lived up to it at that point.

Good friend of mine is a lead researcher for ESPN in Bristol
The general feeling around the office is Miles is gone by today (this was as of last nite).
Clearly nobody knows what the hell Miles is doing....

From what I've read, there is law in Michigan requiring a job to be posted for a week before a new hire can be made. RRod was fired last Wednesday, so this may drag on for another day.
My sense is if we hear nothing from Les or LSU today then I think he's more likely to go to M.
