My biggest problem with it is it seems like no one tries during regular season games until the last 5-10 mins. In the college game, most players go all-out for the full 40 mins.

Completely agree. College b-ball is far more entertaining to watch.

apparently you didnt catch any Nats games with Ron Dibble the past couple years. Dude was a terrible hack who said improper shite just about everyday

No, but I do recall seeing some quotes. He may be an exception to the rule! But he does make it more interesting.

When you watch it, you notice how long it takes for the pitch. Where as when listening, the announcer is doing his job of keeping the attention of the listeners.

Not saying that tv announcers don't,

Today's TV annoucners certainly don't. They are dry and boring as hell. No energy - they are too afraid of saying something improprer.

Bring us back to some of the old time announcers and it would be more interesting, but certainly, the pace on TV is slow to watch.

There is a soccer/baseball inverse connection in youth sports.

Soccer is very popular with small kids but they leave it in HS.

Baseball is a sport that cannot be picked up in HS. You have to learn the skill set around 7 or 8 years old.

So youth soccer drains some potentially good baseball players and does not produce good soccer players.

This is so very true. I coach my daughter's t-ball team, and I had a parent pull their kids out because 'they didn't run enough'. Put them in soccer instead. All they cared about was tiring out their kids. They forget about the hand-eye coordination skills the kids learn.

This is a huge problem in our area.
I can care less how he handles a PC. If he can coach and win games, he'll be fine by me.

You cannot deny he has a passion for the game, his players and Michigan.

Apparently at the team meeting yesterday, there was talk about implementing some spread elements into the offense - which would be great for Denard and our chances of keeping him.

I will say this - SDSU held its own in the games they lost:

Lost to:

BYU 24-21
TCU 40-35
Utah 38-35
Missouri 27-24

That is good competition at least considering the players at his disposal. I can only hope that means he coaches his players well.

Well, it is what it is - he'll get my support - for now.

I just hope he will focus solely on defense and they'll hire an OC run an offense complimentary to Denard's skills.

Ugh. Disappointing. I fear the transfers that will come out of this. Not only is recruiting killed, but if we lose key players elsewhere?

They better have some killer coordinators lined up....
Pelini has already said he will remain at Nebraska.

I sure hope he does.. Don't want him.

Okay. But, the wish was NOT for UM's good. It was a pathetic lashing out at a great University with a tremendous football tradition.

Oh, I understand that. Still don't want him.

Is this now a no-turning-back decision for Miles?

I would think so, though not for the reasons you think. His age starts to become a factor - if Michigan is in this position again in 3 years, I think he may be too old for serious consideration.

re: Michigan & the factions

I would say there is a third faction - the ones who care little about the other two and just want Michigan to return to its winning ways.

Gruden to Michigan.

This would make me smile.
I have not even heard once that Brandon has been near or spoken with Hoke.

But the way he keeps everything so close, that might not be a positive thing.
Exactly. What else is he going to say? If he is in discussions for a job, I doubt he would say anything during the broadcast.

Just means Les is heavily considering coming to Michigan and wants his wife there to hear what they had to say. Agent needs to be there for obvious reasons.
