Sound a little nervous
I am not nervous at all. I find it amusing that Tennessee fans think he'll interview with them. They already contacted him and he declined.
This is what caused the initial meltdown over Schiano. The head coaching position opens up, there's a largely inflated sense of the position which causes fans to think there's a legitimate shot at guys like Gruden, Petersen, etc, then Schiano gets hired and the fans melt down because they had their hopes so high.

If anyone had a prayer of luring him it might have been TAMU given the Woodward link.

Our fans always brought him up because of that link and the response from our insiders was always “he’s never leaving the West Coast” for whatever that’s worth

I think you have a largely inflated opinion of Washington and how you guys can hold onto a coach when the big boys call

Big boys could never get Petersen away from Boise. He only left for his dream job at UW.
Also if this process has taught us anything, it's that UT is not one of the big boys

Potentially, but Cohen really did the work on the Petersen hire. Although it wasn't much work. He called UW when the position opened, Cohen flew there, met with him, then the contract was signed that night. I wouldn't give Woodward really any credit for luring Petersen to UW since he didn't need to be lured.
Petersen is all about the fit. That's why he stuck around Boise for so long. He's always going to be a west coast guy and is most comfortable in the PNW. I think Oregon would have been the only other program in the country he would have left Boise for, but they hired Helfrich after Chip left.

That's not how Petersen works. I will ban myself for life if he ends up as the coach of Tennessee

Ever heard the story of the rich man and the homeless shelter?
This very wealthy C.E.O. would always head down to his local homeless shelter to help out. He cared about these people and wanted to do what was best for them, and himself as he truly loved helping others.
Well, the visits to the homeless shelter were mostly fruitful, but every once in a while some of the homeless people would punch him in the dick, I don’t know why, that’s just what homeless people do.
After so many times of getting punched in the dick the wealthy man said frick it, I’m going to take the job coaching at the University of Tennessee and moved away from the poor homeless people.
If you think about the story, it has tie ins to this situation, and right now, Washington are the homeless people

Can someone explain why/how he was on the plane of a Kansas State booster?
I think he used to be the AD at Kansas State before coming to UT. He probably contacted a friend at K State (the booster) and requested use of his/her plane.

Props on getting Frost. Your AD set the example on how to successfully hire a coach from another school.
Thanks - quite a few people still salty over it. Tried to save them the heartbreak but they didn't want to listen.

Fyp
Good for neb that they got frost, but lets not act like neb would have been able to pull him so easily if it hadnt been Frosts dream school.
Just like uw got peterson
Just like utx got herman
Just like usc got kiffin
Just like uga got smart
UT when they got Majors then Fulmer/Chavis, and why UT is in the mess it's in. Coaching searches changed, and UTAD had no clue how to properly handle as it had been almost 30 yrs since UT had to do it. What kiffin did blew the top off the unorganized UTAD, and it's been scrambling to figure it out since.
Perfect timing happens, but doesn't make the AD a genius cause they were able to take advantage of the situation.

You realize Tennessee are the homeless people, right?

So the school that’s been rejected by damn near every coach in America is going to interview Peterson? Boy I hope he’s lucky enough to merit serious consideration
Posted on 12/4/17 at 7:02 pm to David Ricky
Chris Petersen would wreck shite at Tennessee but I doubt he leaves Washington. Jeremy Pruitt is a very good coordinator but I'm not sure he has the chops to be a head coach.

Sounds like Tennessee too. Both Tennesseee and Washington won national championships in the last 30 years and lost a coaches to USC.

The homeless person story wasn’t real, I made it up, let me tell you a true fable though that is very apt for this situation.
Have you ever heard the story of the wealthy ceo? He was a really nice guy, and he’d love to go and help out at the homeless shelter, it was great for him, as well as the homeless residents as it’s what both he, and they, needed.
He helped out at the homeless shelter frequently, and it usually went incredibly well, until the homeless people were continually turning up raped. No one understood what was happening.
Investigators searched for months, and couldn’t figure out the case, who would be raping these homeless people? Rape is bed, homeless people are gross, don’t ask me why it was happening, it just was.
Finally one of the detectives realize that some douchebag had an internet screen name of doghouse_4x4 and he clearly had to be the rapist, as what normal person would make that their screenname
