Signs three year extension
Posted on 12/16/08 at 5:19 pm to acmilanlsu
What are the odds that he lives to the end of the contract?

Look for ole Bobby B down at Fla State to get a 3 year extension as well. Jimbo will have to wait a lil while longer.

Seriously those guys just want to be the winningest coach's of all time can't balme them though...I think one of them will die on the field

He sleeps up in the booth ... what's the point?

He may not even do that much coaching haha. He doesn't even know what the BCS is lol. He'll die on the field, that's his dream. Hopefully it'll be after a big win and not a loss...hopefully it'll be over USC in the Rose Bowl.

Can you see it-five years from now, Lou Holthz spitting out an interview with Bobby and Joe, all three hooked up to IV's?

Maybe he's scared to die if stops coaching. I heard thats the reason coach doesn't want to quit because of Bear Bryant. I dont think its true about the game passing him by either. He's a manager not an x and o guy anymore, he lets his coordinadors and other coaches take care of that like Bowden. I just dont know why people cant appreciate a ledgend and everything hes done for the game.

I appreciate Joe Pa and Penn State for their loyalty to one another. They could have ran him out of there a few years ago, but they stuck to their guns. Also, Joe Pa could have probably left Penn St a few times for greener pastures (NFL maybe) when he was younger, but he has remained loyal. Schools can't buy loyalty anymore with those fat coaching contracts.

as long as he has Penn State in top ten let him coach.
That is probably what is keeping him alive. seriously.

It's about recruiting and steadying the program.
Both parties have the option of canceling.
If P St win Rose Bowl,I would not be surprised if Joe Pa starts to pass the reign to a hand picked successor.
right on both points.....
he has earned that right.
