Joe Judge has an offer to become the new coach at Mississippi State, his alma matter. He takes the Giants instead.

Seems like this name came out of nowhere.

Serious question: How many Belichick underlings have gone on to successful head coaching careers?

ETA: Besides Saban.

I can't decide if this is worse for the Giants or State. Who does State hire now? Can they still get Napier?

How the hell did NY let the Panthers get Rhule? From everything I had heard, the job was his if he wanted it. And now they are stuck with Joe Judge? He may be the next Belichik for all I know, but the optics don't look very good.

Not at all. He was one of the favorites behind Rhule. Rhule got more money from the Panthers.

Bill O’Brien, Kirk Ferentz, Vrabel

Grantham.

Napier wasn’t interested.

Rhule was a finalist but it was an open process. The Panthers were willing to pay more.

Vrabel just knocked Belichick out of the playoffs

Did the Giants even look at McDaniels? This seems weird.

Many have said they did, however they didn’t interview him this go around.

Vrabel never coached under Belichick IIRC.

He did under O’Brien and he played for Belichick. The link is there.

Am I crazy or did state hire him yesterday? Did he leave state for giants?

You’re crazy.

Giants hired him yesterday. He never agreed to terms with MSU. Not sure if he got to the interview even
