Joe Judge to State?

My understanding is there’s a subset of former players (late 90s/early 00s) and small portion of boosters/admin that are pushing for him to get the job. Something along the lines of “He’s one of us” bs basically. He’d be an abject disaster and wouldn’t even be talked about for it if he wasn’t a former player.

I’d be shocked if he ended up being the guy (Selmon seems to want to do his own thing). But we are Mississippi State and I also wouldn’t be shocked to see us fudge up a growing NIL budget and fan base needing some excitement back into it.

Think it will be Jeff Lebby

Think Chadwell, Lashlee, Liepold are actually the top targets. After that it’s kind of a mismash of who knows what.

Names I’ve seen mentioned that might be of actual interest after those 3:

Jon Sumrall, Willie Fritz, Gus Malzahn, GJ Kinne, Jeff Lebby, Alex Atkins

Now how solid the interest is with those other names… I have no idea, from either side.

Selmon wants to hire a sitting HC whether P5 or G5 for some stability. We shall see what happens. I’m personally on the Chadwell train.

If State hires Joe Judge it'll be a worse mutiny than would Tennessee tried to hire Schiano. It would be bad.

I remember on the last go round the Giants hired him to “prevent” State from snapping him up.

The Giants saved you last time. Nobody is going to save you this time. If you hire him, that may be the end for State (it won’t be.)
