Damn, this stings. I don't know why a team would give Shurmur another chance after his first failure, then follow that up with Judge, a ST coach from the Belickick tree.
I know the Browns have had plenty of issues with coaches, but it's the Browns. It's part of their identity to suck. The Giants are used to winning.

He was the original Napier with the added twist that he also spent a cup of coffee with Belicheck as well as a ST coach. Teams were falling over themselves thinking this guy was going to be able to create some Frankenstein’s monster version that combined both programs
Plus he sounds like a 1970s SNL sketch doing an impression of an NFL coach so an old owner like Mara fell hard for the routine. Which shouldn’t be surprising given the last 3-4 HC hires and the fact they hired Dave Gettleman around the same time. The gettleman hire alone should tell you they were never really serious about winning the last few years
