Those close to Jimbo said he was never leaving. But with how much $$$ Texas can throw around, you never know.

heard on the radio where this isnt that big of a deal, just a formal thing to quiet everyone before the bowl game
buyout is still zero and if he wants to go to texas this changes nothing

That's what I assumed. Although FSU is almost as good of a job as Texas. The grass isn't always greener.

Sounds like the radio guys were wrong and just trying to cover their tracks. Jimbo wants to be in Tallahassee. Period. We'll see what the buyout clause is when the details are released.

it was a national espn show, they have no rooting interest, they were just repeating what they had heard.

same thing that has been said (by me) about saban applies to jimbo. unless some crazy buyout was agreed to (and it was not, not good business), he is still in play. until someone is hired, that is.
more simply put: no matter how small the percentage might be, he is an option until someone else is hired.
accept it, and move on.

Zero buyout contracts don't work how you think they work. It isn't one side demanding a zero buyout clause and the other side doesn't get anything in return. Even if there is a zero buyout clause (which there has been indication there is), I'm sure the contract will benefit both sides.
Basically, FSU isn't worried about Jimbo heading to Texas.

so this was just an performance based raise with his new contract?

I think it depends on what Jimbo wants. He has a good thing going at FSU. If they win out, they make the payoffs every year. That is doable.

The rumor is that if he hits all of the incentives in his K it'll be ~5 million a year.

A bunch of politicians and a clown college will do that.

so it was just a performance based raise as opposed to a response to any texas rumors.
If fsu truly isn't worried about texas that'd be the only explanation, right?
