That's what FSU would have to pay to fire him.

They are not reading the contract correctly, that was like a poster the other day saying Petrino has a $30mil buyout. He has a $10mil dollar buyout, not $10mil times every year of the contract.

Actual agreement

By the way, most college coach's contracts/agreements are readily available in PDF form for viewing. They're normally employed by a public school, so their contract is view-able by the public.

Another poster was saying that Petrino's buyout was $10 million a year for every year left on his contract

Orlando Sentinel reported the same thing....

quote:

Fisher's buyout would be a little more than $33 million according to the report, making him an expensive proposition if another school would be interested in him as a coaching candidate.

There is no way he would have signed that. He would have to have the worst agent in sports. And he doesn't.

So really that might make him MORE likely to be our coach next year. Don't you think? Assuming he is declining at FSU, (as we discussed on a different thread) they may see it as a blessing if someone wanted to buyout his contract and do little to try and retain him.

Do you think the Athletics Department and Director are growing tired of the arrangement or do you think they would try and keep him for a few more years?

Page two has the liquidated damages clauses, i.e. the amount Jimbo would have to pay if he terminates the contract.
