Dallas Cowboys:
Our sources tell us that Owner Jerry Jones still hasn't picked up the option for next season on Phillips who is in the final year of a three-year contract. We
have confirmed that Jones does have interest in LSU Head Coach Les Miles. It is expected that Phillips will not be back in Dallas unless they make it to
the Super Bowl, according to our sources.

I think Miles coaching style would work in the NFL to tell you the truth.

There has been talk of this around Dallas for some time now. However, who knows if anything will come of it.

hate to break it to everyone but there is no way in hell Miles leaves...he may be fired at the end of next season pending....but there is no way he is going to leave under his own free will except maybe to Michigan and I honostly see LSU helping him get there next year by telling him they will release him from his contract to go. but i seriously doubt he quits to go anywhere else.

I just don't see him getting into another lengthy contract at his age if indeed he really wants to end up/end his career at Michigan

I don't see this happening - and I hope not. Dallas certainly doesn't love Phillips but since 2007 only 1 coach has won more games - Bill Belichick. If this did happen - it would certainly hurt our ability to sign a top tier coach - since it wouldn't happen until late Jan. and it would be right before signing day. It would be bad for our program.

That would fit. He hired Switzer and is that dumb.

What exactly is his "coaching style".

Another F job from an NFL billionaire.
Miles may seem like he does not know what is going on at times but he does.
Not going to happen.

That site is getting a lot of play these days. Anyone know how reliable it is? It mentioned "Crowton out" before belowpar.
On the topic, mediocre NFL coaches don't make close to $4M/ year do they?

dude that's not exactly rocket science...
if I ran a footbll rumor site I'd sure as hell would have posted that awhile ago...

If Jones does have interest in Miles, does that necessarily mean as a HC. I've felt now for a while that CLM gets overwhelmed but would do very well in managing smaller parts.

Posters in this thread that want miles gone aren't exactly helping there cause here IMO.

I thought Garrett was the coach in waiting or is all the offensive issues with Romo, Owens, Roy Williams, etc.

I mean by the way he treats his players. Saban didn't work out in the NFL because players will not play for someone that yells all the time. Miles is laid back on the sidelines and very loyal to veteran players which would go over well in the NFL...

The lowest paid coach this season in the NFL in terms of salary is Brad Childress and that is 1.25 million.
Not sure what the total compensation is though for public speaking engagements, tv deals, etc. Or if that is already factored into his salary like Miles.

as one that is neither a Miles nor a Cowboy fan, I think this is a fantastic idea
