Would LSU really hire a coach who was part of a rape scandal after Ed Orgeron?

It helps when Saquan Barkley is your starting RB.

I was waiting for someone to make this comment. Breaking news: good coaches recruit and win with good players.

If Penn State, of all programs, vetted Franklin and was comfortable hiring him, then yes.

Agree, he is a coach that likes the grind it out system. Les Miles 1b.

This concerns me as well.

I’d rather Kiffin I think and I almost can’t stand him. Would definitely take him over Tucker.

I wouldn’t be upset with Franklin but his Penn State teams have not be impressive or fun to watch. Offense is highly questionable and has been for a while

Exactly. Huge concern of mine.

He also went 4-5 at Penn State last year
and he's 5-1 right now and only lost last week because his starting QB went down in a close game.

This is his record at Penn St which is much harder to recruit for;

7-6
7-6
11-3 (won the Big 10)
11-2
9-4
11-2
4-5 (we gave Ed O a pass for covid)
6-1 as of now

Penn St more than likely finishes 10-3 this year

Franklin has finished in the top 20 for four years straight finishing in the top 10 in 3 of those 4 years. He had back to back 9 win seasons at Vandy and finished with them ranked in the top 25 both years.

I would be glad to have Franklin. He is probably the most proven head coach we can realistically get, but Kiffin is my top realistic pick with Fickell as #2 (only because he probably doesn't want to leave from up north).

Penn St is a good job. I wouldn’t expect him to leave.

And LSU fans don’t want him. Think about that.

Actually, most posters on here have been supportive of the possibility of a James Franklin hire. He's made the top 5 of just about every list of potential candidates I've seen. It's Mel Tucker that we don't want.

He lost 3 division games one year, then four the next in those 9 win seasons. He therefore, didn't win shite. Dude is a bum.

What did Franklin say after his national title?

Did we?

If so kinda harsh to fire a man for going 4-3 following a national championship
