I’m pretty sure Memphis will dump Silverfield now. They are one of the best and biggest spending programs in the G5 (after this year) now and are on TV a decent amount. I could see them taking a swing at Herman. Their roster would work well with his offense and they have recruited ok since Norvell left. Coaching and scheme have been bigger problems there.

Tom Herman has to much ego to go 45 mins south of Austin to a struggling Sun Belt school.
That being said Texas State has a lot of potential in a really cool college town. They need to bring in adult who can run a disciplined and accountable program. Spav was out of his depth. I think last year they didn’t sign a single high school kid and got every recruit out of portal. There’s not future in that

Scratch that. It was just reported in Memphis that Silverfield is staying. That sucks. I guess 6-6 is good with them now.

Spavital returns to Cal as OC. He had a Top 10 offense at Cal in 2016 with QB Davis Webb and true freshman WR Demetris Robertson. Cal has had the worst offense in the Pac-12 since Justin Wilcox took over in 2017, so it has nowhere to go but up.

How so? He did good work as Offensive Coordinator at Cal in 2016 and the numbers at WVU in the following years look good. What am I missing?
