Ben Davidson, former Oakland Raider Offensive Tackle. I knew him socially in the Bay Area in the 1990's. Ten years later I am at JazzFest and I hear Ben yell, "Hey Mike, what are you doing here?" Couldn't have been nicer.
Cal just officially hired Tosh Lupoi.
Cal is looking very closely at Tosh Lupoi, current Oregon DC, and Cal alum.

JKS was a Cal guy all the way until, rumor has it, Mendoza called him the night before signing date to tell him that he had no chance of replacing him. So he flipped to Oregon and when Mendoza left for Indiana a few days later he promptly came back to Cal, which is building a war chest to keep him.
Cal will not end its athletic department any time soon. There is an enormous amount of money in the alumni ranks, such that spending a half a billion dollars to renovate the stadium 10 years ago could happen, along with establishment of a robust NIL collective, and other things. That said, the money aint' flowing unless and until the administration in general, and the Athletic Department in particular recognize the reality check they just got. Supporting 28 non-revenue generating sports will no longer cut it. The same goes for Stanford. Both thought they could rely on academics alone and bled their football budgets to support the other sports, particularly for women and olympic sports. They now know otherwise and that is a good thing. There are moves afoot from the moneyed alums to rectify the situation.
How so? He did good work as Offensive Coordinator at Cal in 2016 and the numbers at WVU in the following years look good. What am I missing?

I googled "Louisiana snakes" and went through the pictures. The one they had for the saltmarsh snake looked pretty close to the one I photographed, hence the reference.

Done it pretty religiously for the last three years - cup of coffee for breakfast, big salad at 11 am and smaller meal at 4 pm. Pretty easy once you get the hang of it.

Use a pick to remove the roots and then do it again against anything that survives. It is a long battle but it can be won.
Name the first U.S. president born in a hospital. Jimmy Carter.
In answer to The Boo, yes, I have used Wet and Forget and am very happy with the results. Spray it on and the green stuff goes away in a day or two. And not nasty to work with.

From the Cal Board, "The SEC officiating crew is loathsome but still better than PAC-12 stooges." All a matter of perspective I suppose.
In agreement with the comment above, Sacramento has a wonderful vintage automobile museum down by the Sacramento River formerly known as the Towe Ford Museum, run completely by volunteers. Visited it many times over the years.
I have taken the Sunset Limited from New Orleans to Los Angeles and then the Coast Starlight up to Sacramento several times. Will be taking them back to Louisiana on Wednesday in fact. The charm of it all to me is that it forces you to slow down. For much of the route there is no internet access which means I get to read without interruption. Also, the food has greatly improved over the past twenty years. And you meet interesting people from the sleeper cars, many of them from overseas seeing the US in the form of transportation they are most familiar with. The coach cars are a different story but there is little interaction between sleepers and coach cars.
Good recommendations all. Thank you.
There is no slab. It is a pier and beam foundation.
No more than 8 inches at the lowest spot.
I own a two story home in Clinton built in 1903 that needs the foundation jacked up in one corner and new brick pillars installed. Plumbing and utilities will have to be reconnected as part of this work. Is there anyone in the Baton Rouge area that you would recommend? Thank you in advance.
