Can we please now kill the "JDR wanted the LSU job in 2003" talk? If he wouldn't take the job at his Alma mater after two years of marginal performance as an NFL coach, there is no way he would go to college coaching one year after only 2 years of buiing success as an NFL coach. Sheesh.

Phil, what you forget is that LSU is the best place to coach in the country and anyone would give his left testicle to be our coach.

Tiger Phil, I think you are wrong. With his wife, children, and history with the Saints, he wants to live in Louisiana. Secondly, following Pete at USC and with the impending hammer of the NCAA, this is not a good situation. He is the ideal LSU replacement for Les.

and history with the Saints,

Yeah his 3 years with the Saints totally dwarfs the whole going and playing for USC.

His history with the Saints is especially important for the coaching job at LSU

Hey genius, why did Skip go to Jax in 2004 to meet with him then?

So Skip went to Jax hoping and praying JDR would listen to him?

Skip doesn't waste money like that. There was mutual interest until Skip blew it by not keeping it quiet.

Well I don;t know Skip personally as well as you do it appears, so I will just take your word, he would bother to pay the price of a plane ticket

Skip totally blew JDR's strong interest in LSU. He let it go public, demanded JDR meet a few days before the end of the NFL season and put him in an awkward situation with his owner with no guarantee he had the job. Essentially, Skip fricked up getting the ideal coach for LSU.

Thanks.
