LSU is CLEARLY a top job, according to coaches & experts (not you, I, nor any typical fans). Simply because you don’t understand the hiring process, doesn’t make it any different.

Really?!? Like who? Other than the 3 I named above, who would you consider an elite hire??

Y'all won titles with Ed O and Les Miles, why this sudden belief that LSU is entitled to make a blockbuster hire without any recent evidence of that as realistic (or necessary)?

If I'm an LSU guy I'm not worried about what Riley did, I'm worried we wasted time and let two guys who would be on any comparable program's list - Napier and Aranda - get sorted before we turned our sights on them (unless they were contacted and weren't interested).

Ryleigh to usc is the best thing to happen for the good of the program
He is weak, soft, and ducked out on his players in the middle of the night.

t's not LSU it's Baton Rouge brother. It is Baton Rouge

It's LSU too. The university has been dysfunctional probably for longer than I've been alive, for se same reasons Baton Rouge is a trash heap. having the state university colocated with the seat of government is asking for trouble. There's too much potential for graft and corruption. The worst thing that ever happened to LSU was moving from Pineville. It could have been another Oxford or Auburn, away from the political machinations of the capital city.

and the fact that we share a division with a Saban coached Bama. Once Saban leaves, LSU shoots to the top of everyone's list. It's stupid to not acknowledge the effect that his presence in the West has on the LSU job.

This shouldn’t be an excuse. Saban/Bama has to recruit against another P5 school for its own top in-state talent. Another SEC school at that, with Auburn.

LSU has no in-state competition for Louisiana’s top recruits, and is the unrivaled top dog in the state. No excuse to not be able to win, Saban or no Saban.

You are an idiot. You are looking at this like a fan. Coaches think LSU is a top job because THEY CAN WIN BIG HERE. We are #2 in Nattie's since BCS started. We spend. We have a recruiting hotbed.

End of story. USC is literally in a ghetto and the entire campus is enclosed in barbed wire fencing. All the top jobs are top jobs because they refuse to lose. Coaches aren't looking to coast. They are competitive and want the high stakes and to win. Jesus....

Like LSU is in a great part of town. .. go 2 minutes out of the north gates and you are in the ghetto. USC is still considered an elite brand vs LSU.

It has to be one of Fickell, Rhule or Aranda or we’re screwed.

Really? So Saban wouldn't do it for you. Only Aranda, Fickell or Ruhle? Sounds reasonable.

What about any other head coach in the NFL and NCAA....None of them work for you except Aranda, Fickell or Ruhle. Gotcha!!

This narrative that Baton Rouge is a shithole is ridiculous. The area from the Lakes down highland and to the garden district is a very nice are for any family with plenty of restaurants, beautiful homes and plenty of parks. Not to mention the fact that LSUs campus itself is one of the most beautiful campuses in America. What do you think you’re getting in Waco, Norman, Tuscaloosa, etc.

Of course USC in LA is unique because it’s one of the few elite athletic programs in a major city center, but Baton Rouge is not the problem.

The problem is that LSU has been poorly run since Emmert left in both academics and athletics. We’ve won in spite of that poor leadership. I had hoped that Woodward would get us on the right track. Let’s see

There is only one fricking thing that matters… money

You think Jimbo is in College station because it’s a great town?

You think USC is paying Riley $15mil because they are being nice? That’s what it took to get him there and he’s there because of the money. If it was such a prestigious job he would be there for much less.

Ohio st hires an in house OC, Jim tresses was damn FCS coach

Being the head coach at USC, Texas, Bama, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Michigan carries much more prestige with it than being the head coach at LSU.
