Alabama taking Tommy Rees last year.

I think ND fans might consider that one a favor

i thought we might do better than tommy at first, then Freeman just promoted parker. i'm not sure it was completely his decision. then we realized how much better we had it with rees. rees actually did a pretty good job for us as the season progressed last year. he's doing a good job at bama. seems to take him a while to get going, but this is only his second year as a full-fledged oc. interested to see how he does in his second year at bama with a returning starter at qb. i think milroe will make a huge leap in his second year, even more than what he's done during this season.

as far as Freeman to a&m? i'm not sure that's even a thing outside of this message board. i like Freeman, but he has to get the offense fixed. he's the type of coach we need in south bend if we're to keep up in recruiting.

I would love that hire. I have no faith in the A&M admin making it

The rumor is Freeman has interest in leaving for similar reasons to BK. Doesn’t think he is fully supported. Supposedly he wanted to hire Ludwig and they baulked at the buyout. Now whether A&M is where he’d choice to leave to is another question but I could buy the discontent given they just had a coach leave for basically the same reason.

I'd be leery of Freeman if he's already making it known he's looking around.

For all the chatter about Brian Kelly leaving for LSU, he had Notre Dame winning 10-11 games a season regularly, and that's how he left them... 11-1.
This is Freeman's 1st head coach job, he went 8-4 last year, 3 losses so far this year with 2 regular season games left. They normally play 2-3 games a year against ranked opponents, so 9-3/8-4 isn't setting the world on fire.

Maybe he needs to prove he can win 10+ games regular season at Notre Dame, before you throw the bank at him.

it looks like he got hosed on his oc pick. who the oc is next year will tell the story. i think moorhead would be a perfect fit. loves the school, i think he's around 50 by now, has some hc experience and the Notre Dame oc job is a step up from hc at akron. he isn't gonna get a better hc gig with what he's done at akron.

Well I wouldn’t put him in the same tier as Kelly right now but he’s certainly a better option than Traylor for example.

The natives would be furious at A&M if this happened and the ND fan would be overjoyed.

But he cleaned house, won 10+ games per season, and had a playoff appearance after that. Too bad ole Jimbo couldn’t make those kinds of adjustments to get back to winning.

Apparently they do. The NC coach was a stubborn dinosaur that refused to change. Time for him to go ... "

We just paid 70M plus to get rid of him. I'm sure many coaches would love that kind of parachute.
