It amazes me...

that so many on this board would think that LSU can essentially have their choice of a new head coach (Gruden, Del Rio, Patterson, Peterson, etc.), yet these same people are completely fine with a WR coach having on the job training as an offensive coordinator for LSU.
In my opinion, this is no different than hiring a successful D2 coach to be the head coach for LSU. Very risky.

Jim Caldwell...any pro HC experience before taking the reins to the AFC's #1 seed this year?
How about both coaches in last year's SuperBowl?
What about pre-Saints Sean Payton?
At some point, Muschamp will be HC at Texas...are we higher and mightier than Texas?
I don't understand these asinine requirements that our HC, OC or DC must necessarily have prior experience at that position. I could name several candidates having had no prior collegiate HC experience that would have been much better than the former HC at Okie St.
What is wrong with going out and getting the best and brightest?

i'm more amazed at how inept our offense has been for the last 2 seasons under a guy who's making premium $$$, and has produced total crap for an offense.
i just don't see how gonzales could be any worse than crowton.
ETA: that's if, les miles is letting crowton do his job and both are on the same page. if les is causing lots of interference, than it's a whole nother story.

I have no problem hiring BG as OC, but I do have a problem with him coaching QBs. We would need a legit QB coach in this scenario.

To me if you've got the goods, you've got the goods. It shouldn't matter your age or experience.

don't look at me. i want us to shoot for the stars to when we look for our net hc. i like billy g, but we need to find a top oc first before we promote him.

"they" want what they don't have. see a game on tv and want the winning coach. doesn't matter that that coach's team lost 5 games this year, they didn't see that. some people have had everything their heart desired so far in life and they view the world as a big wishing well. i know my kids did when they were teens and in their early 20's. boy, did life instruct them differently.

Think people would just be happy with Crowton gone. How much worse could ANYONE else be? LSU was about as bad as an offense can get.

who runs a scheme that will mesh well with miles, is available, and looking for a job?
