Said last night during the broadcast that he thinks there are only 3 or 4 current HC's that wouldn't leave their current jobs to come coach at LSU...

I never heard of this dude...

He could be right, Saban, Dabo, Petersen, Patterson, Shaw wouldn't leave their jobs to come to LSU.

He's 100% correct. And those three are the best in college football.

He said that only 3-4 shouldn't consider it. And I agree

To be fair, he said there were 3 or 4 who would not consider LSU a better job than their current one.

That does not mean they would leave the current job. There are sometimes other reasons.

Either way, he made a case for LSU being a top 5 coaching job.

He's been saying that since the Wisconsin loss. He's a recruiting guy so it's very understandable why he has that opinion.

I think he was over-stating for effect. There are a decent number of guys (Saban, Meyer, Harbaugh, Peterson, Patterson, Shaw) who are probably either too valued to be allowed to leave or in their dream jobs already.

Even if you are a premiere job (like LSU) the right candidate has to be at a time and place where he is available. LSU should have a lot of options and doesn't have a ceiling on their potential. But we can obviously frick it up by hiring a dud and set the program back.

I'd say I'm slightly more than a really casual fan...but nowhere near a Bama trailer park fan where my family's safety depends on a Tide victory...

You never heard of Tom Luginbill? He runs recruiting for ESPN and I'm sure he talks to coaches on a regular basis. He's really good when it comes to scouting/recruiting and analysis in general

Luginbill is ESPN's national recruiting director (or some dumb title like that). He actually likes LSU, unlike most of ESPN. I can name 4 people who wouldn't leave to come here..

1.Saban
2.Meyer
3.Harbough
4.take your pick

There's currently 128 head coaches in the country, I'm sure plenty of them wouldn't leave to come here. That's not a bad thing. What's wrong with him saying only 2-3% wouldn't leave their current positions???

While this is an exaggeration, it kind of gives you an idea of what the perception is out there. This is an elite job.

I think Dabo would leave Clemson for LSU, if he weren't eying the job we all know he wants.

That's what a lot of us have been trying to tell some of the people that want O so much. It's like you guys don't realize how big this job is right now. We'll have our pick of the litter if we do this the right way.
