No one has more skins on the wall than Urban Meyer other than Saban. Name a candidate that could beat Saban in his first year? Name a candidate that could bring in top 3 recruiting classes each and every year? Which coach could potentially win a championship in his first or second year as an LSU coach? Which coach could bring in an elite coaching staff? In all reality, he is the #1 coach out there on the list that isn't Saban. So if you have all this money to spend on a big contract, why not get ALL of your moneys worth by hiring the best candidate out there? You want the best out there, you go get the best out there and not dick about. Unless he tells you no, that is who you go out and get.

Recruiting: Elite
QB Development: Elite
Maintaining School at high level: Elite
Head to head vs the Man: 2-2
Championship Potential: Elite
Hiring Excellent Coordinators: Elite

Now put that criteria up against any other candidate and tell me if there is one that can match that?

The White Whale is pretty obvious to me.

I don't see why he is wasting his talents in the NFL.

Needs to come back to college.

I'd actually prefer Urban over Saban at this point. Nick's age is catching up with him and when those retards that make up that entitled, spoiled fan base starting crying about not winning it all every year, he will walk away. He doesn't have the patience or demeanor to put up with their shite...

As a pure football coach and recruiter, he’s by far the best out there. Only Saban is better.
Unfortunately, he’s accumulated some bits and pieces of negative baggage along the way, and for that reason I don’t think he’s a candidate.

The question is does Angola have room for more inmates, Meyer will definitely fill it up.

Why in world would he come back the CFB coaching? You think he enjoys the grind of recruiting and kissing the asses of 17 and 18 year old kids?

Because he is awesome at it.

Why not win a Natty at a 3rd different school?

I understand though.

I don't think we are in any position to throw stones, right?

Hmmmm, Derrius Guice, Cecil Collins, Barkevious Mingo, Trey Lealaimatafao, Jevonte Domond, Former starting quarterback Anthony Jennings, along with defensive lineman Maquedius Bain and defensive back Dwayne Thomas, faced felony charges of unauthorized entry of a dwelling. Those charges were later dropped. Charles Scott, Ray Parker. Deputies issued Kevontre Bradford and Sasha Scott, 18, misdemeanor summons for theft. The two allegedly stole $60 worth of items, including candy, face cleanser, slippers, lotion and a 16 oz. drink by not ringing them up at the self-checkout, WBRSO spokesman Zach Simmers said. Drake Davis. USA Today reported that LSU women’s tennis coach Mike Sell was informed that Davis punched one of his players in the stomach. Sell never reported the incident, and Davis reportedly continued to assault the unnamed tennis player.

Every one on Woodward's list is better that Urban. Hell, every college coach has a better chance to become the LSU HC than Urban does.

Only reason he shouldn't be a candidate is if he's not interested.

Urban and Saban. Everyone else is just far off. It’s really not even close after those two monsters.

Short answer No. Downvote away but Urban is only a year older than Saban was when he got to Bama and has two more championships and an infinitely better resume otherwise (as of the age of 57). Just think what he could do for the next 13 years if finally decided to settle down in one spot!

Hey moonshot, not all marriages are perfect Stepford wives marriages. Woman didn't look like a college student. That incident is something his wife and Urban will have to work through in their marriage in private. I have never heard of Meyer having issues with students or Athletic Dept staff involving him at any university. Take your holy roller arse elsewhere, yotch.

Good point but i wonder how many years of that 12.5 million a year he will be around for? As good as he's been in college, that LSU money would be pretty much guaranteed for many years with his track record coaching in college.
