Is there a realistic candidate for the LSU job that you would consider a home run hire?

Barry Bonds would be a good home run hire.

Lol people are probably sick of me saying Freeze, but yea. I also think Napier could be a program changer, potentially.
I do like the Riley chatter as well though.

Janes Franklin is prob it. He’s won at vandy and has also managed a big program in the big 10.
We might not be on a level some fans want. But he would have us challenging for the west most years.
Does he want to come? Idk

You just saw one on Saturday that totally dismantled our football team. If we don't make a move on LaneKiffin, we're nuts. Remember, he put this team together in TWO YEARS!

Freeze is completely blackballed from the SEC. Alabama tried to hire him in 2018 as a co-offensive coordinator. LSU, Missouri, and two undisclosed schools also tried to hire him for a similar position the same year. Sankey strongly encouraged all the schools to not do that. The schools obliged. I'm guessing there's more going on there than what was made public given the extreme prejudice they're giving Freeze, but either way 3 years ago you couldn't hire Freeze as a coordinator. I don't see why you could hire him as a head coach now.
I like Napier a lot but he's definitely not a home run. Riley is the closest to a homerun, but he has a few blemishes that could be bad/frustrating depending on which one you're focused on. He's also arguably not realistic given that the first step to getting a raise is picking up phone calls.

Brian Kelly
A little bio: "Kelly took over the head coaching job at Grand Valley State when he was just 29 years old and went 118-35-2 in 13 years, leading the program to a pair of Division II national titles. In 2004, he took over a cellar-dwelling Central Michigan program and took it to a MAC championship two years later.
But what he did at Cincinnati really raised eyebrows. Kelly, who coached Cincy to victory in the International Bowl in his debut with the Bearcats, led them to ground-breaking 10-3, 11-3 and 12-0 seasons despite not having the best facilities in the Big East."
