alot of our guys have moved up and it didn't work out.

Gotcha. I guess there's still several weeks that some of these guys could move as was stated above.

I'm really not sure if Les does this on purpose, (hiring old coordinators with either no intentions of moving up or recently failed at moving up..) but here's a short list..

Stud - just recently got promoted to OC, was O-line, might move to HC gig after a few years (personal opinion)

Krags - seems to be content with his role because of dealing with parkinsons and wife's illness.

Billy G - doesn't seem to have what it takes to be an OC.. urban and les skipped him - I think he's holding out for a coord spot at a GOOD school, don't hold your breath.

Cooper - GREAT DB coach, failed at DC and HC pretty bad.. might just get a raise and study under chavis until trying one of the above again in a few years.

Chavis - All he wants to do is be a DC.. and he's in the best spot there is for that job.. (only school that matches up with us on defensive talent is bama.. and saban runs it there)

I'm sure I'm missing somebody.. but that covers the big ones. All personal opinions as well.. but I would be surprised if we lost anybody this year.

you know stud coached at bowling green rt? pretty sure he would take a hc job somewhere. just dont see why he would make a lateral move anywhere.

IMO, there is no way a team with LSU's achievements this year goes untouched in the coaches' turnover wars.

Maybe not the OC or DC but other position coaches will be tapped for upgrades by other programs.

coaches like working with Les He is not as hard to work for as some other coaches

true but he makes it look easy enough they may think they can do the same.

#1 most likely to get poached might be Cooper if A&M is serious about him as a potential DC

Stud to tOSU or Billy G to somewhere random also seem plausible

I'd be surprised if either Chavis or Krag end up moving anywhere else anytime soon unless Miles were to take another job in the NFL or something

I still laugh anytime someone says les to the NFL..

He's An amazing college coach.. But I'm sorry I don't see his style translating to the NFL well at all

I wouldn't think Chavis would be going anywhere. It's other lower tier assistants that I would expect a few to jump up as coordinators at other schools.

Chavis might stay at LSU forever

I think Les would be perfect for the NFL. He allows his coaches to coach and his players love him and play like hell for him.

But, Les strikes me as a person content with where he is and doesn't have the ego that needs to be scratched by taking a stab at the pros.

I think he likes teaching and coaching younger college guys and helping push them in the right direction for the future. Dealing with NFL players and lots of contracts is a different game. Not saying Les can't do it, he just doesn't strike me as a person that wants to coach in the NFL.

JMO, but I can't imagine Miles wanting to leave LSU. It's one of the best coaching jobs in America. He gets to live in BR, he has a virtual lock on LA talent pool, and his salary is not bad either. He's seems very happy where he is. I personally hope it stays that way.

Miles did coach defensive ends for the Dallas Cowboys several years ago and I think he knows what it's like to coach in the NFL & prefers college, plus seems to really enjoy it at LSU.

I think he was tight ends coach for the Cowboys. I don't think he has ever been a defensive coach.

Except for Ron Cooper. A deal has already been cut to make Nick Saban his replacement as position coach though. So no worries.

This is complete speculation and not based on any facts, but I feel there is a possibility that John Chavis could go to Tennessee (where he previously played and coached) to be a head coach. Other than that, he stays put.

homerun.......not promote a DC that has no HC experience. Hope for an Urban Meyer to be out of coaching for a year and experiencing the itch.
