He's a great recruiter, coaches a hell of a defense and has shown a propensity to get out of his OC's way.
Seems like a decent choice if one and two fall through.

Don't get me wrong, the man did great work at Rutgers, but I'll let you all in on an open secret...
Mario Cristobal was the best coach Rutgers had come through the university while Schiano was on staff, including Schiano.
Schiano is a good (not great) recruiter and a good (not great) motivator. He's terrible at in-game adjustments. He's never been great against a spread offense. He's a massive A-Hole and got himself run out of the NFL for being so stubborn.
Rutgers couldn't do better. LSU can.

GS gets a lot of hate, but I think he's a really good college coach.
