Is everyone thinking Miles is gone?

As of Thursday morning my 'source' that has ties to both the LSU and UM programs said that UM is planning on offering Miles but that they're pretty sure he'll turn it down.

You guys forget this is the same guy who will let an Asst. Coach find another job instead of firing them. He's not going to embarrass a school he loves (UM) and make their time finding another HC more difficult.

I've read this twice and I still have no idea what you said.

So do you think he stays or goes?

I say he's gone.

That logic is retarded.

Hey, were one of the all-time greatest college programs ever - we're looking for a new coach - a MI graduate has had a lot of success at LSU - so lets go after him.

We KNOW he's going to turn it down -but we're going to offer anyway.

No fricking way they offer if they KNOW that he will say no. What would be the point?

I guess I'm the only one on this board now without a "source".

longer he goes without saying "Im not going to Michigan"...

the more likely it is hes gone IMO

I think hes done at LSU, the whole situation has been a little too hush hush for him him to 100% stay IMO.

He's not going to turn his nose at his alma maters and not even talk to them, when clearly they want to talk to him. It makes their coaching job look even less desirable.

I think they offer him the job, he turns it down and they can move past the Michigam Man stuff

So instead he's going to talk to them, with everyone knowing about it, and then embarrass his alma mater by telling them no?

The fact that UM wants to formally meet with Miles means the UM search firm and Miles' agent have already agreed on something.

I still don't get Canes. What is the big deal? All it is is Chicken Fingers. Heaven forbid you have your family go there and want a selection on the menu. Guess what, you're getting chicken fingers.

So you think he'll talk to them, but he'll turn them down? Sorry, I was a little confused by the original post.

This is Les Miles.

People aren't exactly beating the door down to go coach at Michigan. They are less desirable when compared to LSU in money, recruiting, facilities, returning players and weather.

Pretty sure he'll turn it down does not equate to them KNOWING he'll turn it down.

Doesn't mean a thing actually. Look at how many HC's LSU interviewed on their last several vacancies. It's an interview.... period.

But you said he doesn't want to embarrass his alma mater. So, if he wasn't interested, and was only being respectful, why would he agree to interview that everyone knew about, only to tell them no? Surely that would embarrass UM on a national scale, no?
