If he couldn't handle the pressure at Cleveland what makes anyone think he could handle LSU?

Why are you comparing what he did in Cleveland to college? If that's the case, Saban sucks too.

By the way, nobody has won in Cleveland since they brought the franchise back. Davis is one of many that have failed there.

he took a 3-13 team and made them 7-9, and got fricked out of a playoff spot by horrendous officiating...went 9-7 his 2nd year and made the playoffs

I'll stand corrected. This year was a disappointment because they had visions of competing for the ACC, and the loss to NC State in the last game soured the season.

The locker room in Cleveland was poison, he was caught lying to players and management, and the breakdown and not being afraid to come out of the dressing room to the field was the straw that broke the camels back. Cleveland was not an assignment sequence that he puts on his resume.

true, but I'm just saying that college is completely different than NFL...he's a great college coach.

He's a great recruiter. Coach, that's debatable.

Post whore, what do you know about coaches? Ever play for one?
You know more about making high school avatars than football coaches.

Butch Davis is not overrated... Any college program would be lucky to have him, IMO.

Miami was in the Big Least when he was their coach.
His out of control teams were such an embarrassment to Miami that the administration intervened regarding the type of kids they would allow Coker to recruit. Coker had to compete in ACC minus the talented thugs Davis brought to the program thus had less success.

Name the these out of control players! Did you play for them or coach with them? How do you know they were out of control?

Awaiting your answers!

Big Fat -- I've already said that disaster was overstated -- disappointing yes - didn't win the or the division and play in the ACC title game as they thought they would, and lost to NC State to soil the season end. Decent but not great coach -- check out the Cleveland ending.

I don't know if he is overrated, but living here right outside of Raleigh & Chapel Hill, losing to NC STATE 3 years in a row is not good at all. However, when you sell out an alumni basketball game on a Friday night but can't fill the stadium on Saturday night, kind of hard to pull the recruits that he is still getting. I think Butch is a good recruiter, however, Obrien is a better game day coach.

I would love to see Obrien leave (fired), and see Bill Cowher(Alumni)take over for NC State. I believe LSU is scheduled to come to Raleigh in 2020.
