I really don't see spin, as I said not a hog fan alive wanted Les as the coach.

but your AD did. Doesn't matter what you mongoloids wanted. I kind of feel bad for hog fans thinking the hire will somehow be better than Miles. Sure, the spin will be out of control but resume wise, it's not going to come close.

Personally, I don't think Miles would be great at Arky. You need a gimmicky coach in order to pull an upset here or there and fight Ole Miss and Moo State for bottom half of west superiority.

I have pretty much been in panic mode since April 1st. After the JLS debacle, I don't know why anyone would think Long will pull a rabbit out of his hat now. The $5.5 million per year offer to Miles reeks of desperation to me. I'm afraid we'll wind up with a Mark Stoops level hire after we've had seven or so months to find the right guy.

First off - great screen name.

Long will take care of this, and it will likely not involve a rabbit

I understand the Johnelle decision may not make you want to smile, but long is going to take care of business here.

Your the one acting like you got something on us.

I don't care either way if you got Miles or not. We have 2 BCS Titles with 2 different coaches. I bet we have 3 BCS titles with 3 different coaches before you ever have one

But keep it real brah

So you do or don't believe that Long and Les had a conversation about the position? If you do, do you believe Les was offered?

I take Les for his word. Les and Jeff Long know each other, there was a conversation about the job. I certainly don't believe that a number was tossed out and an offer made.

BTW, I think Les is a pretty good coach and I doubt that we will end up with a better one. Long probably would have made an offer if he thought there was a chance of Les saying yes.

You guys have the all time record meltdown with your coach getting fired.

Second place is the epic spin job regarding the hiring of JLS.

lol this is what long has done with the petrino hire. everyone was lauging at us when we got turned "down" by grobe, etc.

this is what he did with the mike anderson hire. mizzou fans, miss state fans were laughing at us.

some of you can't see the forest between the trees.

We'll end up with the best coach of all the new coaching hires in the SEC...

AND

We'll make a couple schools pay extra money for coaches they're not 100% sure they're happy with.

Not worried at all. I'm sure there are some who are worried, but I trust our AD.

Valid point but it also underscores the crap shoot that you guys are dealing with when it comes to the availability of decent candidates.

TN too.

That's what I'm worried about. This whole time word has been that our new coach is locked up, now we have a rash of desperate offers being thrown out. Things are about to get ugly on the hill.
