Hard to believe Woodward is letting the outcome of a game decide the coach for him unless he had a back up plan ready to go if OU wins and Riley stays.

I’m surprised this thread hasn’t taken off. This is the first crack in the dam, IMO. This is the first time someone outside of LSU has mentioned the possibility of Riley leaving. This is not insignificant

That has nothing to do with it. This is about timing and being able to announce the next coach before the early signing period.

If he loses OU is out of the Big 12 championship game and Riley is then free to sign with another school or announce that he's staying at OU.

If they win they are in the Big 12 Championship but after that if they don't make the playoffs then he moves on we would hope.

Right. But, speaking specifically about how this one game affects Riley's future, it's about his regular season being over or not.
