The Advocate reported that there is one candidate, Dave Aranda, that satisfies many of the constituencies that are surrounding AD Scott Woodward. It reported that Dave and his wife loved LSU, the people and community so much, they went to the length of taking out an ad in The Advocate with their three children to thank Baton Rouge and LSU fans.

This is part of the ad Dave and his family posted. “You opened your hearts to us and truly made us feel part of something. The opportunity to coach at LSU was everything I dreamed it would be…I’ll never forget the pride I felt each time I put on the purple and gold; knowing I wasn’t coaching just for a team, a school or a community - I was coaching for an entire state.”

It wants you to pay after so many clicks. I just read it from the paper.

ahh, gotcha. I don't really get that, but I think I may have seen it in the past. guess it's the ad blockers or browsers I use.

I’d be ecstatic with Aranda. My top choice from the very beginning.

His family did love Baton Rouge, and they are close. However, I don't know if the fact that his daughter is at college at Baylor changes anything for him if LSU comes calling.

This is coach-speak PR type shite. What you think he's gonna say "nah BR sucks arse. Can't believe I spent like 5 years in this hellhole and I couldn't wait to get to shiplap Waco with Chip and whatsherface"

No,he's gonna say nice good things to show respect.

Fact! No other former LSU coach went out of their way to show that kind of sentiment when leaving LSU. But don’t let that get in your way to express a negative reaction to Aranda.

From someone who has met Dave Aranda in person, he seems to be a genuine guy and not the type that would just spew shite out of his mouth that he did not mean.

It’s not Aranda, stop. Why would you want Aranda? I view him in the same tier as Tucker which isn’t high. Dudes accomplished nothing as a head coach. I know there’s no room for facts on the rant but his defenses statistically got worse every year he was here. Pass.

Considering what we know about Orgeron and his meddling with his coordinators, notice that in 2016 we had the 5th ranked defense in the country and then it was downhill from there.

Just saying.

No, the stats back it up. It did get worse. But I'm now convinced that wasn't all on Aranda.
