If you melt at the idea of Kelly

You need to take your purple and gold sunglasses off for a second. 48-year-old Nick saban's not coming around the corner anytime soon.
The guy has one of the highest winning percentages of active coaches. Has made the playoffs multiple times at an academically restrictive school like Notre Dame.
Stop crying about him being 60 years old. He could literally coach for another 10 years if not longer.
I most certainly did not want him from day one and it definitely would be a big step down from where we originally started.
But he's a boring stable consistent winner. For the first time and 20 years LSU's head coach would not be some buffoon of a character that the media mocks all the time.
If we could win a national title and have the greatest team of all time with the coach that walked out with a hooker last night on his way to Destin Florida you better believe Kelly could win one here.
If your plan B is a guy with multiple playoff appearances and one of the most winning records of all active coaches I'd say you have a decent plan B..
This whole thing was voice to text so there could be some terrible grammar or typos

Dude you suck stfu
Yeah let’s see how good he is when he plays teams with a pulse. Majority of NDs schedule for years has been garbage. Even the NC year with Manti Te’os fake dead girlfriend you knew that team was getting destroyed because they played no one

If thats who we "settle" for then I'll be happy. We know he can get to the playoff. He'll have a way better chance to finish here.

Kelly is not the answer man. Kiffin, Rhule, Fickell, and Aranda are all better options. You reach out to each of them before Kelly. I don't want to go back to the days of an archaic offense.

I've got a pretty high level of confidence that Kelly is not going to leave South Bend until he is ready to retire from coaching.
My only source is that I live here and am married to a family that is somewhat involved with the university and heavily involved in the community. He's paid a cubic frickton more than is reported and his wife has ties in the community that are going to be hard to walk away from.
